NEWSFLASH!!! CITY HALL RESPONDS TO HISTORIC KANSAS CITY 2019 MURDER SPIKE WITH ANOTHER STUDY ABOUT PUTTING MORE COPS ON STREETS!!!
Despite a harsh winter, the local murder count still is trending at a 10-year-high for this time of year. The response from 12th & Oak: Another study about a promise to put more police on the streets that was made years ago.
To be fair, any movement on this front is good news before the annual Spring/Summer murder spree.
Here's a glimpse at the resoluation:
Directing the City Manager to work with KCPD to develop a five-year police staffing plan and report back to the City Council within sixty days.
The City Manager is in a position to work with KCPD to develop a five-year plan to address police staffing needs based upon the study and taking into account retirements, attrition, other salary savings and the City’s five-year budget
