Liberal Budgeting: Will Kansas Republicans Cut Granny Guv Kelly's Purse Strings???

Great detail here on a financial argument against the newbie Guv and her agenda . . . Given the shortfalls during the Brownback era it'll be interesting to see if the right wing can make this argument work . . . As both Republicans and Democrats in the Sunflower State want to spend more money:

Governor Kelly's budget leads to large deficits - The Sentinel

Senate Democrats objecting to returning the 'federal windfall' to taxpayers say doing so would produce a negative ending balance in fiscal year 2022, but Governor Kelly's budget produces much larger negative balances without reamortizing KPERS pension payments.

  1. The "moderate Democrat" schtick was a big con job. She's a tax and spender like the rest of her party.

  3. 8th highest sales taxes and still broke with 98% of the land empty, give me a break. Tighten up welfare programs drive the dead weight out of the state.

  6. as a retiree don't like the idea of re-amortizing KPERS, will add a lot of future interest payments and jeopardize financial soundness of the system.

  8. Love all the "tax and spend liberal" comments every time there is an article about her. She's been in office two weeks and hasn't instituted a single policy but it is easy to see all the Fox "News" synchophants parroting their usual bullshit. Here's your daily reminder Republican Sam Brownback, along with deep red Kansas House and Senate instituted the highest tax increase in state history a couple of years ago. That is fact, not fake news you fucking ignorant morons. All of the financial failings of this state belong 100% to the Republican party.
