KCMO LOOTERS STAY WINNING: CITY HALL BORROWS $90-MILLION AGAINST TAXPAYER CASH TO FINANCE STALLED NEW KCI!!!
Downplayed by most local media, here's an inevitability that high finance creeps attempt to explain away . . .
Aviation Director Pat Klein confirms that the Industrial Development Authority of Kansas City took action Tuesday to provide about $90 million in short-term loans to the airport, so construction can begin as soon as the deal is in place.
Translation . . .
RIGHT NOW KANSAS CITY IS BORROWING TENS OF MILLIONS TO PAY FOR THE AIRPORT DESPITE PROMISES IT WOULDN'T COST TAXPAYERS A DIME!!!
One our our readers actually noted this . . . If locals stole a few hundred from a liquor store, they'd go to jail for years if caught.
MEANWHILE, WITH NO AGREEMENT IN SIGHT . . . CITY HALL JUST 'BORROWED' $90-MILLION WITHOUT A PUBLIC VOTE!!!
Moreover . . .
KANSAS CITY FUNDING THE NEW KCI WAITING GAME MIGHT BE ONE OF THE GREATEST RIPOFFS OF A GENERATION GIVEN THAT THIS MONEY WILL BE PAID OUT DESPITE THE LACK OF PROGRESS!!! REMEMBER CITY HALL HAS ALREADY BURNED THROUGH 20 MILLION BUCKS!!!
This is something LESS THAN DEMOCRACY and probably a good reason to vote against every incumbent who has an opponent in the upcoming City Hall contest.
Developing . . .
Smart money works on getting an airport contract instead of complaining about the cost on the Internet. That's what all the consultants are doing.
ReplyDeleteBut, but, Justus said it wouldn’t cost the tax payers a dime.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a complete disaster and after we give them 90 million more to raise the total given to these clowns to around 140 million. and you wonder why were pissed. You are some kind of rocket scientist aren’t you?
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty sad the way KC sneaks around and does dirty deals under the table. But yet KC will make the same mistake again and put someone in just like Sly or vote for Justus just because she's a lesbian, or Reed and Lucas just because they are black.
Smart money works on infrastructure first like the people were promised.
Funny how people use the internet to slam the people who use the internet!!!
Settle down. Your breakfast muffins and fresh donuts are warm, tasty, pleasurable, and waiting for your consumption at your local convenience stop.
ReplyDeleteJustus and Reed are in command on this so relax.
KCMO corruption at its finest. KCMO is a perfect training ground for waste, fraud and abuse at the local government level. Maybe all of the new hotels will be used to house the students attending the training sessions.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that Sly and Troy are both on the board of directors of EDCKC.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it would be pretty easy to order someone in the IDA department to "cook up" a $90 million loan.
Can we call the police or state trooper or some shit on them? I'm dead fucking serious
ReplyDeleteThe more money that we give to City Hall, the better off we will be.
ReplyDeleteGovernment should control everything and you middle class proles should get back to work shelling out tax money for we elites.
We know best, now shut up and obey.
^^You're also dead fucking stupid. Go away rube. You've embarrassed yourself!
ReplyDeleteI understand once bonds financed this short term loan paid back.
ReplyDeleteBut my question is if there is a recession and airlines leave or reduce schedules and enough fees aren't generated to cover bond payments. Who makes up the difference?
8:19 Brilliant, so original and thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteSub Sahara IQ, right?
Have another banana and watch some more World Star.

ReplyDeleteEdgemoor and City Hall unveil their totally revamped sketch for KCI....a TELEPORTATION BEAM!!!
Why isn't the DOJ & FBI raiding Sly and his cronies for corruption? Oh, never mind, city run by democrats. Ahh, great to be a democrat!
ReplyDelete^^I don't know Maude. Maybe because he hasn't done anything illegal? Hmmm.. maybe take a chill pill and stop believing everything Tony the troll writes. How about tht?
ReplyDelete^^^ @9:05
ReplyDeleteStupidity and dysfunction are major ingredients in corruption but unfortunately neither of those two are illegal.
There really is something wrong with this. KC should not accept this level of corruption and graft. Seems like that kind of money transfer should be met with more scrutiny.
ReplyDelete"Dancing With The Richard Florida"
ReplyDeleteMay 23, 2012 - Airports play a considerable role in economic development, and the most important cargo they move is people. ... Richard Florida. May 23
Just google search Richard Florida Airports and you'll see where this whole scam hysteria "we NEED a new airport!" began.
I voted for the airport. I really regret that decision now. It has been nothing but a constant disappointment. There was supposed to be a better plan than this, I thought they would have had more together than just this kind of amateur hour shell game.
ReplyDeleteTime for the council to step up and provide some leadership. We need and ordinance that agrees the people should vote on something like this or just wait until we stop looting these funds.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for God almighty to come down from heaven and stop this insanity! Please dear lord come down now!! Why!!! Oh God why!! No no no! Please help us dear lord. I don't want this!!!!
ReplyDeleteFlorida's "airports are us concept" is another creative class fantasy and speculation that future work forces will all be laptop toting business people, executives, entrepreneurs who commute to work in other city's via commercial flights then return home at the end of the day to their luxury Cordish Light Towers abode then get up the next morning and repeat it. So they deserve a fancy airport!
ReplyDeleteOf course these stupid politicians have been slurping up his shit now for well over a decade even though Florida admitted he was basically way off on all this crap philosophy he's been selling.
^^^^ Excellent Florida reference!
ReplyDeleteWhere were you doing the election. We could have used that, an obvious indication that we were going to get scammed.
If they would have been HALFWAY honest about the airport, people would have wanted to see a better plan. They didn't ask many questions so this is what we've got.
ReplyDeleteThis is on you Jolie. This is why you shouldn't be mayor. EVER.
ReplyDeleteThis is like me borrowing $8,000 for the 2025 iPhone... nothing exists.
ReplyDeleteJolie eats a lot of pussy.
ReplyDeleteOh no! This bad guys!! Soooo bad! I'm mad as hell and I'm gonna take it!
ReplyDeleteThe old Kansas City SHUFFLE. Tom,Prendergast would have been impressed. I
ReplyDeleteBut they say that short term loans are going to thing things started early?
ReplyDeleteThey couldn't be lying.
Not Sly!
Sly never lies!
^^^^^^^^^ You keep telling yourself that cupcake.
DeleteBiggest.
ReplyDeleteRipoff.
Evar.
Here is 90 million dollars to go along with the other millions we have wasted on this dog and pony show to do you know whatever with says the powers that be.
ReplyDeleteHanding out cash with no clear agenda to this band of thieves is like putting 300 5 year olds in a room full of toys for a whole day and telling them they can't touch or play with any of them.
Where is this supposibly hot state auditor at who is so intent on busting corruption in Missouri? Has she been paid off to stay away from Kansas City?
Is there not one good lawyer in Kansas City who would like to make a name for themselves by exposing this continuos raping of the tax payers? Or have the lawyers all become so corrupt they are afraid to upset the apple cart and ruin everyone's gravy train?
Well there goes the snow removal services and pot hole repairs....
ReplyDeleteKCMO voters have no one to blame but themselves on this one. They approved this debacle when it came up for a vote. Had the chance to shoot this down but instead fell for more S'Lie James bullshit and lies. Our city government is as corrupt as they come. That cannot be argued. However, when given the chance to do something about it, KCMO voters gave S'Lie, Jolie and other the knife to which they are going to stab us in the back with en route to driving this city further and further into debt.
ReplyDelete#KorruptCity
And what's worse, KCMO voters approved this thing with no design, no price, no financing plan, no assurances from the airlines, NOTHING. It's the equivalent of giving an alcoholic a blank check while sitting him in a bar full of booze with no supervision.
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond stupidity. Both on the part of the Council and voters who voted for this thing.
#KorruptCity
This is the reason why they are so desperate to keep the E-Tax and constantly adding tax initiatives to just about every vote. So they can free up dollars from the general fund to throw at shit like this instead of using those dollars for things they should be spending it on like, I don't know, BASIC SERVICES!
ReplyDeleteKeep on voting for people like S'lie KCMO!
This has to be one of the worst run cities in existence. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.
#KorruptCity
Will they also be doing the same thing to finance their streetcar extensions?
ReplyDeleteThings like this happens because ther is NO organized opposition. When you have the black reverends, the star and the other media licking up everything city hall puts out, we can never win. I really thought that CRG was going to develop into an alternative to the city hall switch and bait but they too have just fallen into the shadows. We are doomed to these shady projects until someone can galvanize an opposition......but they had best be ready to be called racist, the powers that be favorite put down!
ReplyDelete@12:58pm
ReplyDeleteThe way I understood it, the city is heavily relying on help from the Feds to help finance the streetcar. There are also people who believe KC won't get that money due to various political factors in Washington.
But even if S'lie doesn't get money from the Feds, he or whichever of his disciples follows him as Mayor, will still press forward with that debacle being 100% financed by tax payers regardless of the consequences.
#KorruptCity
I'm not certain KCI can legally use the IDA to funnel $90 million into the airport project. Not yet, anyway. The airport has introduced a city ordinance (#190027) to legalize such a transfer but City Council has not even voted on that ordinance, must less passed it. If Council won't pass it, is the 90 mil wishful thinking? Let's hope so. And remember: taxpayers are ultimately on the hook for any loans or bond funds used by the airport, no matter what the airport claims. Contact your Council person and say no.
ReplyDeleteSuper Dave, she’s a dummocrat so you can forget her auditing a dummocrap city like killa shitty
ReplyDeletecomplain about it on skidmore merrill owings facebook page,jan23 a good spot, or the aviation committee's face book pages or stop bitching about it here.
