Kansas City Weekly Power Rankings

A week of overwhelming cold finishes with our quick tribute to fiery Kansas City politicos and their successful flexing this week.

To wit . . .

CELEBRATE THE STRONGEST MOVERS & SHAKERS IN KANSAS CITY RIGHT NOW ACCORDING TO THE TKC BLOG CREW!!!

Yes, we do send messages off-site and talk smack behind your back . . . But more importantly, we offer high praise to these locals after a week of impressive achievements:

Council Lady Heather Hall

She's a Conservative standout in KCMO and and her work on the neighborhood level is impressive no matter the partisan leanings of local residents. This week she did AN EXCELLENT JOB talking on a local public affairs show but more important than that . . . She's out there helping to push and promote progress on more Northland resources for one of the fastest growing section of Kansas City.

Teachers In Kansas City Public Schools

Unfortunately overlooked by the Administration and the overblown public relations victory tour today. KCPS teachers played the GREATEST role in achieving the improved Missouri progress report and they deserve most of the credit for working to garner the slow but steady gains in the classroom.

KCMO Mayoral Candidate Steve Miller

He earned the first big campaign endorsement of this election cycle and support from across the bridge means a lot for this political outsider trying to make a name for himself.

And so . . .

This list has been compiled according to scientific TKC polling and market research data and it's a weekly comprehensive guide to local powerful people, trends and our times.

  1. Not a bad list this week but they are the underdogs. The real winners are getting paid by the airport.

    1. A lot of people wish Heather Hall would have run for mayor this time. But think about the long game. She might not be able to defeat the incumbent but out there in the Northland, she she keeps up the good work. We could be looking at a really good moderate Republican replacement for Congressman Graves. That would be good for Kansas City and all of Missouri.

    2. Heather Hall is the rare exception here of people doing good on the council. Lee Barnes and Teresa Loar also have done some good work. Notice the rest of them just want to be mayor.

It'll be interesting to see if Dan Fowler can keep his job.

Thank you Heather Hall for at least trying to do the right thing!

  3. Miller may have received the Out-of-State Real Estate Developer's "Endorsement", but are they foolish enough to put any money into an empty suit?t

  4. Putting money in an empty suit is hardly foolish for the big bucks development. In fact they do it all the time, as evidenced by many of the "public servants" already in place in KCMO.
The fact is, the folks who view government as just another place to find funding and debt guarantees for their "projects" are more than happy to provide direction and locomotion for any empty suit they are able to find.
Someone with no priorities, goals, or objectives of their own make the best puppets.
    They do as they're told.
The "relationship" between KCMO and Cordish is a perfect example.

  5. All public teachers do anymore is go out and have sex with their students. Sick folks they are. Teaching public school is the most underachieving and degrading job there is.

  6. KC Cicero, Heather Hall is too moderate to be elected to National Office by the GOP.
As soon as her candidacy was announced, the "Cult45" devotees who are in complete charge of the Republican Party would start screeching "RINO"!
