Here's hope that transit improvements inspire crime cleanup and better neighborhoods . . . On the bright side, urban core public infrastructure investment is a much better strategy than giving away a ton of cash for downtown luxury condos. Checkit:
KCATA hopes to improve service, reduce crime along Prospect
KANSAS CITY, MO - Yvonne Llewellyn has owned the Jamdown Kitchen on Prospect nearly 7 years. "On the menu we have oxtail, curry goat, everything, red beans and rice," Llewellyn said. She's seen the police cars race up and down that corridor, but soon there will be a new plan in place aimed at reducing crime in her community.
Good luck.
ReplyDeleteNot all crime has gone down along the Troost corridor, well guess what it never will either unless a whole lot of you know who moves to St Louie.
ReplyDeleteLights are good. It’s hard to see the criminals at night, except for their eyeballs.
ReplyDeleteSo now the bus company is doing the job of the police? And it only cost 56 million dollars! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteThe cold weather is a better crime deterrent than the cops or Jean Petersucker Baker.
ReplyDeleteCold weather, warm weather doesn’t matter. Anything is a better crime deterrent than Jean Petersucker Baker.
Delete^^^^ I think you suck a lot of peters. That's why you are projecting.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the cops would be more enthusiastic about arresting more hood rats if they thought petersucker would aggressively prosecute them once in a while
ReplyDelete^^^^^ The man who sucks peters doesn't have any friends or family. That makes me sad.
ReplyDeletePetersucker is worthless, crying shame the bus company does a better job at eliminating crime than that worthless cunt could evar do
ReplyDeletePublic transit on prospect.....this isn’t a subway in New York this is a bus route on prospect on Kansas City’s east side. Don’t get me wrong I think they should have a bus route because even in the hell hole of Kansas City’s east side there are still good folk working an honest job. It’s their keedz that are the problem.
ReplyDeleteI think these expensive streetscapes as a part of initiatives like troost max and the new prospect max are misguided. With the exception of trash cans, a sign with the route times posted, and - for very busy stops - a bus shelter with seating, these amenities around stops are kind of stupid, dangerous, more expensive to maintain, and get run down. E.g. look at almost every troost max stop. They have a flower garden surrounded by a dangerous guillotine blade metal fence that is dangerous. And those planter boxes require labor costs and maintenance and inevitably fill up with weeds n litter. And they are always located right by the bus stop sign clogging the area where people are boarding and off-boarding. They are fads that nitwit transit planner chase after and a bad deal even if paid for by a federal check. Spending tens of millions on transit streetscapes does nothing for making routes more frequent or making new transit routes. Thanks,
