Kansas City Hype Clip Offers EPIC Cowtown View For Fake 25-MILLION Annual Visitors

We can debate statistical methodology but there is simply no denying that the KCMO 25-million-per-year-tourist claim has met with not only public skepticism but outright mockery across the world.

Nevertheless, local ad wizards continue to hype this town as an international destination.

Here's who is doing the pitch:

The Kansas City Area Development Council is a private, non-profit organization. We are charged with representing the economic interests of the entire two-state, 18-county region of Greater Kansas City.

  1. Not convinced at all. Looks like more of the same empty promises and distraction. I'd rather they just cleaned the streets and fixed the broken pipes promptly.

Sure it's "private" that means they don't have to answer for all of the taxpayer funding they get.

  2. They're trying. What are you doing to help Kansas City, Tony?

You can kill yourself. That would help.

  3. These people are just like Mayor Sylvester.

They worry more about impressing non-residents than taking care of local taxpayers and our infrastructure.

If they have their way, KCMO will reach the point where we're crowded to the point of losing what we enjoy. If you want to live in a mega-crowded, impersonal, expensive, crime-ridden, high tax burden city, move to NYC, Chicago, LA, or SanFran.

  5. Nice video, it really does look like fun time. But those who actually know this city can see that the events only include one or two days of the year in very "select" parts of KCMO. Everything else is just potholes, shootings and poverty.

And don't see any of our hobos in this movie. #stayfrosty KC!

  6. I used to think the Royals were something. When I saw how they broke up a World Series team for profit...... I’m done. Fuck parking lot fees.

  7. This is how you dummies don’t get it. The royals are just like the airport. Broken and in need.

  8. So many people in Kc are try hards. Especially tech millennials who work for companies that fail. Oops. Oh damn did my non socialism bother you? M

  9. OK the video was kinda cool actually. It didn’t however show the bloody streets from all the murders. It didn’t have footage of the plaza...or the plaza mobs/parking garage rapes. You know, the phony
Metoo movement absent on that. Missing the plaza apple store daytime robbery. Missing footage of the airport discussions lmao. Water main breaks, or the millions going to 18thand vine. Paseo becoming theMLK murder boulevard. Did anyone see the corporate welfare handouts in that vid?

I’m being harsh. Yes the video was pretty good but also left out some realities about KC. Like...where to go and where not to go. How you can easily get shot and killed in the river market, but still enjoy a produce shopping experience.

river market produce is junk. Every once in a while you can find an actual local with good stuff but usually it’s thrift market Asians selling aged goods at a premium. Hipsters and others walking around acting like they are getting a good deal on shitty veggies while instagramming their river market travels.

  11. Looks good, thanks for promoting this Tony. Had no idea this video existed but this will now be spread even more on social media.

  12. Anybody who has seen and been to the real KCMO will not believe this hype.

  13. Video in desperate need of satire. Show that #5 in murder ranking in a nice big celebratory font. Montage of Plaza diversity hordes. Stats on failed infrastructure and Sly's endless slush funds. Show the punishing financials on Mayor Bullhorn's deeply subsidized magic kingdom downtown. Close with the truth, over peppy music: "We'll be Baltimore before you know it!"

  19. Good video to show to the world how deluded this city is.

  20. Might appeal to Mid-westerners whose worldly experience amounts to going to the local dairy queen or hanging out at Oak Park Mall.
