Kansas City Harvesters 'Canstruction' 2019

Quick look at local Winter tradition and a good cause to help feed the growing number of needy and Kansas City metro residents suffering food insecurity.

Remember . . .

Recently, an estimated 1 in 8 Americans were food insecure, equating to 40 million Americans including more than 12 million children

Accordingly, here's a fun way that locals can help take care of their neighbors and support one of the best local organizations working to feed Kansas City . . . Deets on the display:

Canstruction Kansas City 2019

See amazing structures built entirely out of canned food and other nonperishable items. Teams of Kansas City architects, engineers and contractors will compete against each other to create amazing structures. When the exhibit closes, the food is donated to Harvesters and is distributed to hungry families, children and seniors in our community.

Accordingly, here's a look at some of our favorite designs . . .

The exhibit runs from February 1 - 28, 2019.

    1. Noticed fewer exhibits this year. I don't think people are getting stingier. Instead, there are more people who need help. A good reason to think about donating.
