Kansas City Economic Border War Truce???

Big biz enjoys the tax break slap fight and trading jobs across the State Line makes for great bragging rights but very little economic progress. Here's the latest take on this stalemate from our favorite number crunches. Checkit:

Will There Be a Cease-fire in Kansas City's Economic "Border War"?

That's the billion-dollar question that legislators on both sides of State Line Road are asking themselves. Show-Me Institute researchers have discussed the problem of trading businesses back and forth between Kansas and Missouri, fueled by tax incentives, for years now.

A truce in the border war would mean unemployed lawyers, a large drop in bribes er campaign contributions and an end to a lot of ribbon cuttings. Don't hold your breath.
