Possible Hickman schools to close, vote March 7
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Hickman Mills School board delayed a vote to cut $5.5 million from its budget, possibly closing multiple schools. Last week an outside consultant made recommendations the Hickman Mills School District leaders about how to cut $5.5 million from the budget.
Northern Johnson County in 20 years.
ReplyDelete20? Try 5.
DeletePoor old John Sharp is still imagining that the plays a role in local public policy.
ReplyDeleteThe state funds schools by student head count.
Hickman Mills has 500 fewer students than last year.
Therefore there is less money and less need for staff and buildings.
Arithmetic can be a cruel reality.
ReplyDeleteAll of Johnson County is well on it's way. That's why they elected sharice Davids a lot of skanks in JOCO almost looks like midtown KC anymore.
Shawn kirkwood should take some heat in all this, he’s the dumb ass that started this whole mess
ReplyDeleteTHEY DONT TEACH A FUCKIN THING.CLOSE THEM
ReplyDelete^^maybe how to spell "fucking" Fuckin is a malapropism for retards. You graduate from there Cletus?
ReplyDeleteClose all of the Hickman Mills schools and admit that it was always a waste of money. Those kids are never going to be literate anyway
ReplyDelete^^Thanks. Stick to Maude. We don't want your opinion on anything else.
ReplyDeleteCan't make people stay in a poor community...no matter how good or bad the school is doing. They gotta cut to keep from closing. Tough...but its reality.
ReplyDeletePeople who say "northern JOCO in 20 years" go look up homes for sale near downtown Overland Park. You likely won't find one and if you do, it won't be on the market in 24 hours. Property values are very strong around North OP. All OP needs to do is have the cops police the problem apartments and. If they need to harass them, well so be it.
ReplyDeleteSorry, downtown OP is too close to the shitty SM West school district, much of which looks like Raytown. The houses you refer to are purchased by first-time buyers or people trying to get their foot into Johnson County. The only part of northern JoCo that is still “JoCo” is Westwood, Fairway, Mission Hills and PV. Basically east of Nall.
DeleteSo glad they passed that $79 million dollars bind a couple years ago...
ReplyDeleteDennis Carpetbagger and all his lackeys from Georgia had a lot to do with this. What a huge waste of money that man proposed and the idiots like John Sharp bought it hook line and sinker. But at least the Superintendent has a private bathroom, the Board has a new board room, all the over paid administrators have new offices. Carpetbagger promoted his agenda just a few years ago and now they're talking about undoing most of his pet projects.
ReplyDeleteAt least this board is better than the Teresa Edens ran board of years ago. The original folks who closed the better high school Hickman, and left the community with Ruskin
