Councilwoman Alissia Canady Garners Kansas City Mayoral Race 2019 Momentum

After facing off with police in an embarrassing dash cam incident, voters didn't give her much of a chance in the competition for KCMO mayor.

However . . .

Council Lady Canady has a growing group of fans among African-American lady voters who outnumber male voters in the urban core.

She has progressive support among duplicitous JoCo and corridor voters who see supporting her as a way to undercut Councilman Quinton Lucas and avoid yet another KCMO racial election standoff.

And recently, she earned high praise from Conservative and liberal voters alike for her principled stand on the MLK BLVD rename debate.

Here's the word highlighted on her campaign site . . .

"Councilwoman Alissia Canady addressing city council on MLK name change that disenfranchised black voters and property owners along Paseo Blvd. It was reported that only 100 of 1800 residents supported."

  3. She don't need to abide by no traffic law! Don't you crackas know who she be?

  4. What will here concern for old white geezers like me be?

  5. If it were between her and Lucas only, I would vote for Lardassia Canady, only because she opposed changing the name of the Paseo.

  6. Please, what a bunch of shit. She splits an urban core vote, at best. Yes, she is an issue for Lucas, and most likely her continued drowning campaign will sink both of them. Other than that, she can't get the votes in the 6th, or the 4th. North of the river her anti-police mentality has already cost her any new votes she could have received. Upwards of 85 percent of the public safety employees live north. She shot herself in the foot with a useless anti-crime task force, asinine video of her fighting officers over long overdue vehicle registration and the attack on officers for the Westport video. She needs to move on.

  7. If she can’t keep her car tags up to date is she really qualified to be mayor?

  8. She stood up for the residents along The Paseo, who were not consulted or counted by either the rest of the Council or those pushing for the name change. It took some moxie to stand up to the Reverends who believe that they alone are the rightful representatives of African Americans. But that's her job - it's what she is supposed to be doing. The fact that she stands out so starkly for just doing what she was elected to do shows how completely the other council critters are failing.

But that doesn't mean she'd make a good Mayor.

  9. Lardassia has a valid excuse for that incident. She was on her way to Popeyes chicken to pick up a bucket or two of chicken and she was very hungry

  10. Well, I'm going to follow the African-American practice of ignoring issues and character and voting solely on the basis of skin color, so I won't be voting for her.

BUT, if I wad not as much of a racist as every single African-American is, I'd certainly consider Ms. Canady, at least she knows the Laws pertaining to the Office she holds.

Does it really matter who is voted Mayor of Kansas City ? It's a Nigger-infested Shithole.

    1. Yes, it does matter. Canady will do less damage to taxpayers and Kansas City than the two thieves Lucas and Reed will.

  12. She got into the crowded race to succeed Mayor Sly James for a few reasons: She’s had it with hearing about how nothing can be done about gun violence without new gun laws in GOP-run Jefferson City. She’s fed up, too, with watching her City Council colleagues continue to hand out all kinds of goodies to the developers who finance their campaigns.“They bankroll the decision makers,” she said, then get incentives — money that ought to be spent instead on mental health care and schools. “We can’t keep building buildings and not building community.”

  13. Alissia is very fat, to the point of being morbidly obese. Very, very fat.

  14. KC doesn’t need any more negros in government positions. Negros do nothing but spend on silly things and we see where that gets us.

  15. I always had a negative opinion about here but her position on violence in KC along with her position on the MLK renaming of Paseo is right on.

  16. If you bought Alissia dinner at Stouds, she would hurt you bad.

  17. I'd vote for her ahead of Jermaine or Quinton. In fact, I will.
