Here's even more midtown rancor directed at the Council . . .
Mayoral candidate Quinton Lucas noted:
A developer after calling the process relating to PLAZA BOWL III "corrupt," then asked for the resignation of Councilwoman Shields.
Follow-up on the fight ahead:
Plaza bowl overlay passes council, property owner file petition
Kansas City Council Set To Debate Limits On Plaza Building Heights
Developing . . .
Of course the council is corrupt they're handing over the Plaza to any developer with a big wad of money in their hands. Never seen so many people with a blatant disregard of how new buildings will impact neighborhoods and raise the prices for everyone around Midtown. Kansas City is for sale to the highest bidder.
ReplyDeleteShields win reelection by no less than 15% sorry "activists" people don't care about old buildings as much as you think.
DeleteCouncil will have no time for this since they are spending all of their time covering for Slie in the airport fiasco.
ReplyDeleteThey're going to heat The Plaza? That'll be great in winter.
ReplyDeleteQuinton Lucas himself should resign for being the college contracts law professor that supports such a corrupt KCI deal. Such stupidity. So arrogant. So hypocritical!
ReplyDeleteQuinton is a drunken affirmative action mooch. He needs to come out of the closet.
DeleteThe council just sealed their fate today. They will not get away with selling out Kansas City like this, none of them will get reelected. It's about time we cleaned house!
ReplyDeleteThey've sold out downtown residents.
ReplyDeleteCouncil sold out the airport.
What makes you think they wouldn't sell out the plaza too?
That 'developer' is Doug Price of Price Brothers. The scourge of Midtown Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteWhat, prey tell is wrong with height requirements?
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that council is doing the right thing for residents here!
8:18 - NAILED IT!
ReplyDeleteI thought there were planning and zoning regulations in place for a reason - to be enforced!
ReplyDeleteOn the surface that is correct but as usual businesses and corporations in Kansas City don't think the rules apply to them!
DeleteDoug Price is a leach, who sucks on taxpayers teats!!
ReplyDeletePlaza Plan will keep Midtown from becoming Olathe!!
Fight the good fight and save the character of the Plaza. Drive around any KC suburb and look at Price Bros apartment complexes. Is that sort of cheap and shoddy development what you want to fill the Plaza? Please say no.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Price brothers are involved everybody should be very skeptical.
ReplyDeleteI'm against height restrictions on the plaza and I grew up on the plaza and have lived there pretty much my entire life. The plaza changed enough in the early to mid 90s that there really isn't much left to preserve and I'm interested to see what happens with unfettered development. There really isn't an argument against it except someone emotional womanly argument. Few realize this
ReplyDelete^^^If "unfettered development" occurs, people will just shop elsewhere - if the Plaza ends up looking like Taupeville (aka Overland Park), what's the point in driving to it?
