TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! CONSULTANT: KANSAS CITY 2019 CANDIDATES AREN'T ACTIVELY SEEKING ENDORSEMENT FROM MAYOR SLY!!!

Things might move slower in Kansas City but, eventually, they do change.

Accordingly, here's an important tidbit tonight regarding the current lame duck mayor and his power to move the dial for political hopefuls.

A consultant TKC reader seyz:

"Just thought your readers should know that we're actively advising our clients to avoid any association from the Mayor. With the election coming up, you'd think that a ton of hopefuls would be asking for the guys blessing but notice that's not the case. In fact, he hasn't made one in endorsement yet. The "star power" of Sly James has vanished for the April vote and I don't think it'll be such a big deal when he inevitably gives his blessing to Jolie Justus . . . Or dangles it in front of the Scotts."

And so the former kingpin of Kansas City leaves office with very little power over the future and inspires our playlist for tonight.

As always, thanks for reading and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  1. Always thought that endorsements in KC were a losing game. In the end they always end up crossing over at the last minute and there are very few ones that really matter.

    1. Jason Kander is endorsing Jolie Justus. That is the only endorsement that really matters. Sorry Quinton.

    2. Sly's endorsement would be a curse to any candidate. He has left a lot of people unhappy and shown Kansas City that he only cares about developers and his friends.

  2. ^^^^^^^^^ So Scott Wagner would still beg for it. Bwahahahahahahahahaa!

  6. Maybe he'll endorse Clay Chastain and boost him up to like 8%.

  7. Sly is a fat liar and everyone knows that. Wouldn’t an endorsement from Sly be viewed by voters as just another Sly lie?

  8. TOP PHOTO -- ROYAL FLUSH

Asked why he had such a poor batting record, Sylvester confessed he'd rather choke up on the neck of taxpayers!!!

  9. Anyone but Clay and you’re going to end up with some degree of a Sly Jr. Clay is the only candidate willing to put the residents’ interests first.

  10. Vote for Clay. The others are just Sly all over again. Put Justus in and you lose again.

  11. The candidates know that if Slie endorsed them their momentum would come to a screeching halt. The candidates know Slie cannot be trusted and is a back stabber. The candidates know Slie is a failed, corrupt, liar, and compromised person.

  12. Bow tie the clown sLIE has been poison for the entire city let alone the current idiots running for mayor, the only endorsements sLIE gives are in the form of money to his developer buddies

  16. Thank you Mayor Bullhorn, for diligently serving your true masters in development and paying zero attention to anything outside the Downtown Subsidized Grift Zone.

  17. Exactly what part of Justs' "record" on the council made Pander decide to attempt to use his rapidly-disappearing "media influence" to endorse her for mayor?
Was it the worthless year-long commission on violence and crime that she chaired?
Or her stellar performance with the airport project, which started with a secret meeting at an exclusive private club during which she supported a no-bid contract for a project, which at the time was estimated to be worth (only) $1.5 billion?
Judging Pander's mental health may be difficult, but his poor judgment leaves nothing in doubt.

  18. Kander showed great judgment in getting out! (To10:57). Coming years in KC will feature crumbling infrastructure that has been neglected to take on huge debt for downtown “smart city” development fads, subsidized high income housing etc.

Kander is smart. He needs to keep his powder dry. Stay away from KC muni politics dude. Who knows what is around the bend in politics? Witness mo governor parson. Who knew in ‘16 what was to happen to Greitens?

    Thanks,
    Radish

  19. Sly and the pathetic fix melt down that resulted in the ongoing airport debacle should have him considering himself lucky he is not joining Sanders for 5-10. Nobody talks about wanting to follow his momentum now.

A mediocre thinker who did a pretty good hoo rah routine. His background should have let us know he wasn't of background to do things right, nor did he care. Making big decisions and running tight ships, are a little different than chasing ambulances.
