TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY COUNCILMAN QUINTON LUCAS TOUTS 'SHARING SUCCESS' IN LATEST MAYORAL CAMPAIGN CLIP: SOCIALISM?!?!

More than any other candidate, KC Councilman Quinton Lucas has worked on legislation to champion "affordable housing" and create "equity" for denizens of the inner-city  . . . It's a popular campaign strategy and has won him a lot of support.

However . . .

COUNCILMAN QUINTON'S LATEST CAMPAIGN CLIP DRIVES HOME THE "SHARING" MESSAGE SO EFFECTIVELY THAT IT'S STARTING TO WORRY LOCAL CONSERVATIVES!!!

An insightful comment sent our way . . .

"Really like what (Councilman) Quinton Lucas is doing. He seems to be the smartest of all the candidates in the contest for mayor and I appreciate his efforts to reach out to people around the city. But his latest ad looks like it's right out of the Ocasio-Cortez playbook. I think he says "sharing" at least half a dozen times and it comes off like an income redistribution promotion. I'd hate to see him ruin his chances by going too far to the left. It is a non-partisan election after all and I think he risks losing support by flirting too much with the current progressive fad. This is Kansas City after all and most people want to talk about creating opportunity rather than just sharing out of entitlement."

Here's the description of the movie from the Councilman in his own words . . .

"Kansas City is booming, and Quinton Lucas is committed to sharing that success with all parts of our city. Support Quinton Lucas for Mayor of Kansas City."

  1. Socialism or not, it's a good commercial because the councilman is able to look at the viewer and talk for extended periods of time without yelling, preaching or pleading. It's a skill that nobody else in this election has shown. Probably why he'll win.

  2. It’s a nice ad and I agree with him that all of KC needs to be focused on appropriately. What I want to know are the specifics. Give me detailed moves you want to do then let the people decide if they want it.

  3. Cute trap. I suppose some people will step right into it.

  4. Sharing with someone other than developers, streetcar constructors, and millennials who feel entitled to subsidized luxury housing would be a nice change.

  5. They no longer even pretend they're not buying votes with taxpayer money. His master plan is to speed up the flight of the tax base to Johnson County.

  6. He's just taking a page out of Sly's playbook.
Talk about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING other than the actual responsibilities of city government and the mayor who "leads" the city.
Priorities and focus begin at the top and if the mayor and council don't even know enough about what's being done in the various departments that are supposed to provide "services" to residents, how can they provide any oversight or accountability?
Same old playing at superficial feel-good crap while KCMO goes down the toilet.
Any of these clowns promising unicorns yet?

  9. There are lots of job openings, but most pay $10 maybe $12 an hour if you are lucky. That will not cover rent in a crap pyramid part of town. Eat the rich.

  10. @4:17 offers such wise commentary! Well said.

You know, I’ve met Quinton. He is a sharp dresser, he looks great in a suit. Your first impression is a man of success. So, this whole sweater get up is laughable. Reminds me of the Menendez brothers who were taken out of their Armani suits and put in sweaters so the jury would like them and think of them as boys and not cold blooded killers. And Quinton, the ball cap, it has to go. Own your natural look (bald head.) Put that suit back on and lose the hat. Be who you are and stop pandering. Folksy is not you. Get some new campaign advisors.

Who supplied the socialism graphic to the TKC? Quinton is that what you want to do? Pander to the black community? Run a typical democratic campaign of giveaways and make everyone “think” they are victimized? Just because you are a man of color and just because you are democrat does not mean you need to pander to your people with giveaways and warm fuzzy sweaters.

Remember readers: No one should be elected to office that has not owned their own business and met payroll for at least 3 years. That perspective will guaranteed make them a better candidate and better elected official capable of better decisions. Quinton has never worked in the private sector and never had to make payroll month after month after month.

Remember readers: It’s not about what the government can do for you it’s about keeping the government out of your way.

    2. And for the record, Quinton is about as country as a dude from the projects could possibly get. Go back to your 4 Cluelees White Dudes thinktank and cook up another one.

Vegas favors Lucas, good ole boy.

  11. @4:58 it's also the best choice for Mayor, given the sorry lot of "Slick Sly Slavies" that make up the rest of the Candidate Roster.

As least he is willing to list specifics, rather than "pie in the sky" blather.

  12. ^^^ is he just saying what he thinks people want to hear? That’s exactly what this grifter is doing, and dumbass killa shitty people will vote for him.

  16. I like Quinton, he's a good candidate. But I don't think that he will make it past the primary. It's not his fault. Blame Jermaine Reed And Alissia Canady for it.

  21. Quinton @7:13 and @7:18 ……… Read it again @4:56 said “owner” not “of counsel” when you are the owner of a business and responsible for revenue and all expenses including employee payroll you will know what its like to be in the private sector and you won’t be so willing to give it all way. No think tank or good ole boy here, just COMMON SENSE. Please Quinton, take the advice and roll with it. You could be the next mayor - or maybe not.
