TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! SECRETIVE PLAN TO REPLACE FADING KANSAS CITY E-TAX REVEALED: RAISE PROPERTY TAXES!!!

The longstanding Kansas City Earnings Tax is out of favor and on the way out.

The Missouri GOP have targeted the E-tax for elimination and Jeff City seems willing to do what KCMO voters would never dream: Cut the biggest, single source of revenue funding City Hall.

The reality is that it's just a matter of time before the E-tax is history.

Created in 1963, at the time the tax was a progressive effort to improve the city and provide greater services.

Now, the E-tax has become a symbol of regressive and unfair local government levies in need of reform.

That's not to say the E-Tax isn't popular. In every election to renew the tax, KCMO voters have passed the levy by EPIC double digit margins. Now the GOP is getting tired of losing and wants to finally conclude the debate in a voting environment they control.

Here's the word from a TOP ECHELON KCMO INSIDER . . .

"Everyone panics when we talk about eliminating the e-tax. 40% of the General Fund up in smoke. It'll take a decade to phase it out and already we're seeing what the aftermath looks like . . . KCMO will continue to raise taxes and voters don't seem to care. Yes, the earnings tax is regressive but what's in store seems far worse . . . "

The kicker . . .

ALREADY UNDERWAY, THE PLAN TO REPLACE THE E-TAX IS SIMPLY TO SPIKE LOCAL PROPERTY TAXES!!!

Here's how it works . . .

Local politicos and the ruling class elite simply find a cause everyone loves and attach a never-ending property tax along to it.

A highlight that should be noted . . .

EVEN SHOW-ME INSTITUTE TAX FIGHTERS HAVE LOST THE MORAL HIGH GROUND AGAINST PROPERTY TAXES BECAUSE THEIR HONCHO CROSBY KEMPER III BACKED THE LIBRARY TAX!!!

Now Kansas City Public Schools want a property tax increase despite their FAIL over more than a generation.

And even worse . . .

COWTOWN IRONY: THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROPERTY TAX WILL EARN SUPPORT FROM KANSAS CITY DESPITE THE FACT IT ACTUALLY MAKES HOUSING LESS AFFORDABLE!!!

TKC was the 1st to show Councilman Scott Wagner working on a property tax scheme against the advice of his campaign staff.

And so, as earning and sales taxes are now deemed regressive and have fallen out of favor . . . Hitting up property owners is the last piggy bank to break and part of American big city income redistribution trending overall.

Developing . . .

  1. Tax for kc schools? That is a bridge too far. They should improve their test scores if they want more money. It needs to be contingent on performance.

    1. KC goes bankrupt without the Etax. They won't be able to raise money fast enough. Missouri Republicans should know that, but I'm not sure they care.

    2. ^^^ Absolutely wrong. KC would actually grow a lot faster without the e-tax. People would be able to work here without getting overtaxed and more jobs would move inside city limits. The upside to getting rid of the earnings tax is limitless

  2. "The vast majority of those dollars pay for essential city services like police, fire and trash pick-up services"

LMAO 5th in murder, sub par trash services.. Welcome to the 3rd World of the Midwest

  3. KCMO would collapse overnight without the e-tax.

  5. The E-Tax is a very unfair tax that is pushed through by those that don't have the decent wage so that those who do have can pay more.

All the other cities surrounding Kansas City seem to run their governments without an E-Tax so why can't Kansas City?

Somehow the city always seems to scare the voters into voting to renew this slush fund for them by making them think they will really lose something. They keep losing it anyway but the voters don't seem to be able to spot this for some reason.

  6. Just e-tax non residents who use (and abuse) the City of KCMO.. problem solved.

  7. Get rid of the E-Tax. How much waste and corporate welfare has the city done the past few years? There is a lot of fear mongering about getting rid of punishment on your income.

KCMO: The more you make the more we take.

  8. The e-tax revenue has surely made our snow removal services the envy of the world.

    LMAO

  9. Raising property taxes will lead to an across the board rent hike for everyone making the city less affordable for the poor and lower income families. This is literally an example of unintended consequences

  10. Don't RAISE Property Taxes, CHARGE Property Taxes!
Revoke all those TIF deals you were bribed to approve, and let the out-of-State Real Estate Developers pay the same taxes as everybody else.

    How could you revoke them?
Simply ask for proof from the deal's recipients of all the new jobs their "wonderfulness" was going to create.

  11. And don't forget that property taxes are dependent on assessed valuation of real estate, and that is done by Jackson County.
If games are played in the assessor's office, only those without the "proper connections" will see the tax increase.
    Sound familiar?

  15. 10:03 you are correct sir! Kcps has been a failure since desegregation money started showing up in the 70’s and it’s only gotten worse. They only have around 18,000 kids in kcps and they need more money? For what? They get too much money now and they still can’t get accredited.

    Nevar will either.

  18. instead of raising property taxes how about we annex the suburbs that will bring in more revenue. And make the earnings tax apply only to workers from Kansas/outta state

  19. Slie loves it when his plan comes together.

The clowncil learned very well from Detroit.
KCMO will be bankrupt in 3, 2, 1, year. Oops it already is.
