KCFD deny that hosed down the dude but do admit putting out a fire and don't offer any details about additional help to local homeless in that area.

HOMELESS ACTIVISTS WORK DILIGENTLY TO PLACE ALLEGED VICTIM IN A RECENTLY BUILT KANSAS CITY TINY HOUSE!!!

Here's their social media declaration . . .

"A group is working to help him with housing seeing as he’s a Vietnam Vet and can be approved for a small home. This requires paper work and takes time. Especially when documents get stolen frequently out there or ruined in weather etc. The lost humanity in this situation is a travesty."

Meanwhile, whilst there are locals on both sides of this issue . . . What the controversy really brings to light is growing population of homeless who need/demand/require increased resources.

  1. I think we need to think about a drug shelter. There are a lot of homeless that don't qualify for other assistance because of their problems. It's better to have them off the street than let them start fires and burn the city to the ground.

    1. TKC asked this question earlier and I didn't get a chance to respond.

Free hot soup is making things worse. They need to let the guy stay with them instead of putting him in a shelter to endanger others who can obey the rules.

  2. Is he a blogger? Does he have a kick starter? Maybe crowd funding is the solution?

  3. Of course KCFD denied they hosed the homeless veteran down. They are adept at lying and not being responsible. Chickenshits for not owning up to what they did.

  4. KCFD should wash the street rats and absolute put out the fires. We pay taxes so that we are not exposed to lice and rats.

  5. I hope it works out that this guy can get in the tiny home program.

  6. I hope so too. Yet again, here is another white person living with dignity - not taking handouts, foot stamps or section 8 or jumping for joy over his Obamaphone. Making do with what he's got.

Thus, the dignity of whites versus the lowly thieving negroes is demonstrated yet again.

  7. I love to joke about KCFD, KCMO, unions, and screwing the taxpayer (because that’s what kcmo does). But if this guy was literally on fire or was having a heroin overdose they would have saved his life. So dont act like these guys are that bad.

I can’t imagine what these guys see on the east side.

So why does quinton Lucas website have him wearing rolled up sleeves like Obama videos? Has anyone else noticed that? Id rather him be honest and show him in city hall drafting Millins for his friends.

  8. The guy is a free spirit and will not stand being caged like a songbird for our amusement.

  9. Well, good thing Council member Teresa Criminal Conviction Loar spearheaded moving those tool sheds from the Home Depot parking lot to that piece of left over city land. What a great option for those homeless. I wonder, though. In return for a tiny house do they have to listen to her run her mouth about an airport renovation? And listen her go on about all the people she doesn’t like? Ugh, those poor homeless. If anything, at least she has some new drinking buddies.

  11. What I find humorous is that the readers (and author) of this blog find some sort of grim satisfaction in slamming the KCFD and KCPD at every opportunity. The attention to this matter (spraying a homeless vet) is just one more example of the 'Public Safety Scalp Hunting' epidemic that seems to be on the rise.
Let's consider the alternative headline "KCFD Allows Homeless Campfire to Burn Uncontrolled, Fire Spreads, City in Ashes". THEN I would see this type of hype justified.
The homeless vet in question was not sprayed, his belongings got wet when his ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS campfire was extinguished by the KCFD. He was urged to move his stuff BEFORE the first drop of water was sprayed. His belongings getting dampened was a result of his own actions.
In spite of my comments above, I do sympathize with our KC homeless, but giving away a tiny-house every time one of our UrbanOutdoorsmen cries foul is going to get expensive.
Thanks KCFD/KCPD for keeping the citizens of this cowtown safe (including the homeless.)
