SPRINT SHUT DOWN THREATENS TO DECIMATE JOHNSON COUNTY ECONOMY!!!

Now "public" radio is offering happy news of impending layoffs and a glut of new office space hitting this suburb amid so-called good times. Read this one closely because it offers a hint that the aftermath of the telcom ACQUISITION will be horribly painful in much the same way a lady friend says that she's "fine" after a fight . . . Awaiting Merger, Kansas City's Telecom Prepares To Be The 'Company Formerly Known As Sprint'

The executive building on the sprawling Sprint campus in Overland Park, Kansas, used to look like a bank: wood-paneled walls, heavy drapes, elaborate light sconces, lots of offices and a huge board room. "It represents a company formerly known as Sprint," said Tyler Pittenger, Sprint's corporate real estate portfolio manager.

  1. Largest employer in JoCo still. They should have made some progress in finding more jobs for people.

  2. Can't really blame them for the happy talk. There's really not much of an upside here because of the jobs lost and the damage to the economy. It's a bad situation and I really hope they can come up with other busineses to fill the Sprint Campus. It's half empty as it stands now.

  3. ^^^^ Can't argue with what you wrote, really. But I would say that offering just happy news prevents people from dealing with the problem. If you're honest and say that people are going to be laid off then that SHOULD get officials moving into looking for new employers or programs for people. But just saying that things are going great is not a solution.

  10. Public radio caters to the leftist/progressive/post modernist types who have along and dated history of hating corporations no matter what kind of damage destroying them would cause.

Pretty sure half their listeners and all their employees were beating off to their Che Guevera and Obama pictures to the news that Sprint was going under with the thought of thousands potentially looking for government assistance.

  11. ^^^ golly u are full of crap, a corporate takeover of sprint by another corporation is related to activists screwing ppl over. Activists, if they were ever inferested in the mechanics of sprint would wonder why a bolivian bankrupt the company by expanding the network all over mexico central and soufhern america and giving every relative and their chihuahua unlimited text phone and data.
