  2. Of course a bunch of already Police Hating Libtards are going to say Excessive Force was used. By god if someone was to use their vehicle as a weapon, then by all means the cops have a right to defend themselves. Heaven forbid that happened in Wyandotte County (with the so called thug lead Prosecutor) or Mean Jeans territory of Jackson County the Officer's would have surely been charged.

  3. B.S. settlement
OPKS management afraid to take their case to court, falls back on municipal insurance coverage, and besides it's the taxpayer's money.

Plaintiff's attorneys ride rough-shod over municipal attorneys who typically punt on defending the cases that matter. Just look at KCMO, and how much they give away every year in settlements.

  4. The dumb kid could have ran over a man and his kid 3 blocks away. The cops did their duty to protect the public. Bull shit settlement, the family and the blood sucking lawyer should be ashamed of themselves.

  5. Not a bad deal all around.

    1) The lawyer gets one third of 2.3 mil

    2) The family will live large on the rest of the money

    3) A kid who was a pain in the ass is out of the way permanently.

  6. I still think the cops could’ve pulled a car in front of the garage door and blocked him in. Just my two cents. God rest the boys soul, mental illness is a terrible thing and it can destroy families. These kids struggle so badly and blame themselves when it’s not their fault. Extremely difficult situation for all involved.

    1. Well, alrighty then, guess those dispatchers forgot to transmit their "very speshul crystal ball" call for service that day to the Albers residence. Because, those caped super heroes would already have known exactly how that angsty teen wasn't going to calmly open the front door and apologize profusely for causing the drama.

  10. Came here to see a bunch of dumbfucks comment as if they have any idea what they're talking about and was not disappointed in the least. Newsflash: the case was settled for a reason, going to court would've turned out worse.

    Fucking idiots.

  12. There is a lesson to be learned here. If you have a doped up or just crazy relative going bonkers, call the cops. If things work out, you can rid yourself of the relative and get rich doing it. Sounds like a plan!

  13. Damn, they should have taken him to schlitterbahn so they could get a much bigger payout

  15. I'd like to call in a welfare check for many of the sick TKC commenters.

    They clearly have mental issues.

The OPPD can deliver that special help many of you need.
