Quick note on the ongoing standoff betwixt the Jackson County Prosecutor vs. one of the last powerful labor groups in KCMO . . .
The Courthouse leader says she wants to talk bout we've been documenting the tense relationship between these two groups for months.
The latest . . .
The Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO reported that Local 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters withdrew its earlier request regarding contract negotiations with Jackson County, MO.
In response, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker issued this statement:
“I look forward to working with AFL-CIO and I appreciate that they pulled a previous motion related to contract negotiations. I think it is important to note this action occurred at the request of Local 42. Contract negotiations with Local 42 are continuing but those must be hammered out at the negotiation table, not in the media or using other forums. We have many issues of mutual concern and we will focus on how to address those together going forward.”

ReplyDeleteJean Petersucker Baker needs to decide what her real job is, to put criminals in prison for as long as possible. She is a complete failure at doing so.

ReplyDeleteI thought this was about Jean Petersucker Baker. She is the weakest prosecutor ever.
ReplyDeleteJean Peters Baker can't even prosecute a criminal case in a timely manner so how is she expected to deal with a labor contract? At the normal speed she proceeds with things the contract she is supposed to negotiate will be up for renewal by the time she gets this one worked out.
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain to me why a county prosecutor is negotiating a labor contract with firefighters?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the police shooting at Barney Allis Plaza back in the summer. How can we have not heard anything about that?
