  1. Notice that neither troy nor sly had much to say about the lackluster street clearing last snow storm. I guess they can't be bothered to address the problem when the whole city has to shut down over 7 inches of snow that's actually pretty typical for January.

    1. ^^^ This year wasn't so bad. The snow on the Broadway and main was cleared rather quickly. But the side streets are getting much worse. I guess it's priorities and nowadays he neighborhoods don't really matter. KC is completely focused on Downtown at the expense of the rest of the city.

    2. K C streetcar has it's own snow plow. Good luck even seeing anything related to public works if you don't live in one or two light.

  3. City hall video: Forgetting to configure their cameras for the past 25 years. A white balance isn't racist or political gents, it's just good technique.

  4. I didn’t think it was that bad. They reminded people they can get free smoke detectors, and where they can drop off fallen limbs if they missed pickup among other things. It’s sad but some people need to be reminded and don’t know how to figure some of this out.

  5. Given the ongoing poor quality of city services and the low caliber of elected officials, including the current crop of mayoral candidates, the people who can't figure things out are the regular voters.
The 10 or 15% of registered voters who keep electing the same kinds of people, or in many cases, actually the same people, who pay no attention whatsoever to the actual needs of residents.
The fantasy that downtown KCMO is some kind of big deal is just silly for anyone who has lived or visited in an actual urban area.
Sly and the gang can get only so far on hype, pipe dreams, empty claims, glowing articles in magazines that no one has ever heard of.
    It never changes.
