It's worth it to watch this upbeat and happy news KCMO City Hall clip for two very important reasons . . .
Kansas City just gave the 18th & Vine Jazz District a $10-MILLION Christmas Gift.
And then . . .
Since 1990 the Jazz District has garnered about $100-MILLION worth of tax cash.
And so tonight, here's a peek at how they're spending the money in ways other than so many sketchy deals behind the scenes which have kept the place without a viable biz model other than begging.
Even better . . . Our blog community always reminds us to note that subsidy for the 18th & Vine District has actually lasted LONGER THAN THAN JAZZ AGE.
Take a look:
You decide . . .
Not even the Motown sound cost Detroit as much money. I guess the band plays on while KC quickly transforms into the next major American city to go bankrupt.
ReplyDeleteIt could be worse. They could waste the money on ballet.
Delete^^ Lulz.
DeleteKansas City lives n....r rich.
ReplyDeleteThe Council should not be allowed to get away with this. A very small % of the City population would approve this spending in light of all of the other things in this City which need to be fixed.
ReplyDeleteKCMO is the best advertisement for the Republican Party.
WE NEED AN AUDIT!
ReplyDeleteThat will buy a lot of Escalades.
ReplyDeleteWould be nice if the council woke up and realized the failed infrastructure needs to be addressed.
ReplyDeleteCheepito has new rims on her Escalade!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the City should insure the entire District for $200 million, just in case there were to be a disastrous fire!
