Kansas City Congressmen Cleaver: Tech Solution Better Than The Wall

As the shut down continues, the former KCMO mayor shares his perspective on the immigration crackdown. Checkit:

Technology a better border solution than walls, Cleaver says

Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver says he is not opposed to a physical barrier at some points on the U.S./Mexico border, but he said spending nearly $6 billion on a wall does not make sense to him. Cleaver was in Kansas City Tuesday to thank people who are helping furloughed federal workers in the area.

  1. The headline is not accurate. Carwash said we need better technology to detect drugs. He did not say we need better technology to catch illegal border crossers, whether or not they have drugs.

Carwash knows as much about technology as my dog. We could blow through billions and still not discover a way to detect drugs that does not involve stopping the vehicle being used to transport them. It's part of his Democrat mentality: when confronted with a problem, throw lots of money at it. If that does not solve the problem, throw more.

  3. Why isn't Cleaver in Washington working on getting the shut down stopped? He is getting paid to be in Washington working on this issue not jacking around doing nothing in Kansas City. None of Senators and Representatives should draw a paycheck as long as the shutdown continues. Pelosi has no intention of any compromise. She knows that impeachment and conviction are impossible so the strategy is to castrate the Trump presidency. Can anyone name ONE other country that will shut itself down for foreigners over its own citizens ? The US will lose more during this shutdown than if the Democraps had funded the wall to begin with. 5 billion and change is NOTHING in the over all budget.

But in the end if there are over 9 million as is being reported by several agencies and Census Bureau, illegal aliens/criminals in our country- we have a BIG problem. We have one hell of a huge problem.

  4. Based on what Dave says that's roughly 2.5 illegal aliens per square mile here in the states. There is suppose to be 92.2 legal residents per square mile. But if the population of illegal aliens is double of what is being reported which many claim is true because how do we know for sure how many there are of them other than to look at how hard the free service sector for them is getting hit. So then it might be 5 illegals per square mile.

I don't know about you but that is very upsetting to me and has to come to an end and those illegals hunted down and thrown out.

  5. Mister reverend, please sit down and shut up!!!

  6. Sorry stupid dave..you can't change facts to suit your narrative. Trump owns the shutdown. He promised he would own it. He promised he wouldn't blame the democrats for it. He was looking forward to shutting it down. The dems don't have to do a damn thing until he re-opens the government. The US does not negotiate with terrorists.

  7. @2:01 You should have stayed awake in civics class. It is Mitch McConnell who is the one holding things up. Congress has not passed a bill for Trump to even consider signing.

The wall funding will happen, and soon. The Democrats know their position that "walls don't work" is just silly. Everybody knows they are just doing this because they hate Trump, and they don't care about the American people.

As for Cleaver, he should know that walls or fences or barriers would necessarily be part of any border security solution. Any plan without them is just plain stupid.

  11. Hey Stupor Dave - It looks like you missed the multiple House votes Cleaver made on the GOP CRs to reopen the government. He's done more than Trump to end the shutdown.

Mitch is the one now continuing the shutdown by following Trump's orders to sit on those bills previously approved by the GOP Senate.

    Try to keep up.

  12. ^^^^^^^No it's you who isn't keeping up moron.

  13. The Senate is scheduled to vote Thursday afternoon 1/22 on two competing bills that aim to re-open the federal government, While the 2:30 p.m. ET vote will mark the first time the Senate will take action to end the shutdown since it began on Dec. 22, both pieces of legislation are expected to fail.

  18. At least Stupor Dave admitted the House has been working and the Senate has been delaying.

After 3 weeks of hiding, the GOP Senate will finally do something on the House actions tomorrow.

The House also passed the bill for back pay a few weeks ago. The Democrats are working and have voted on legislation. It's not like they are watching TV and tweeting.

4:04 must have hurt like to to admit Dave was right didn't it?

3:51 you always want facts then whine like the bitch you are when it's presented. Better hurry and get the house cleaned up before mom gets home and beats your ass for messing it up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 4:04 didn't admit Stupor Dave was right.

He was pointing out Dave's fake outrage about Cleaver not work was wrong. Stupor admitted HE was wrong by citing the long delayed Senate vote.

  21. Not paying your taxes on a stupid car wash doesn't make sense to me.

As a federal employee, you haven't done jack crap to help LIAR!

  22. 5:07 you got bitch slapped so admit it. Cleaver hasn't done anything other than as 5:18 points out is failing to pay his bills.

  23. Democrats do not like the wall solution because the money is too easy to keep track of. Now a technology solution that has more people involved and that magic word research is what interest them.

  24. Learn how to read, loser. Bots have better comprehension than you.

Cleaver voted and passed bills to reopen government.

The Senate did nothing for 4 weeks and won't vote until tomorrow.

Cleaver passed bills for back pay that were signed.

In the meantime, Trump is still proudly owning this shutdown. MAGA is getting bitch slapped as Trump turns this country into Venezuela by giving IOUs to law enforcement.

    Pelosi should take this deal.

Next step is to enforce E-Verify.

Trump will do it and his own party will hate him for it.

  26. Cleaver hasn't done a damn thing in congress other than be a voter on someone elses work and act like he is really doing something. And 6:10 the Senate has been waiting for guys like Cleaver to get off their ass and do something. So learn government loser
