Local streets are worse than ever despite "smart city" tech that promised to fill these nasty crevices which malign most roads in this cotown. This week there was an effort to spin tough questions about the nasty state of local roads but most drivers were likely unimpressed by the big talk amid continued bumpy rides.

Winter weather taking a toll on vehicles, costing drivers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Winter sure has made a permanent stop in Kansas City and it's likely having an effect on your car. Starting with glass. One driver woke up to a large crack down her windshield. Roy McDaniel is with KC Complete Auto Store. "The glass usually cracks when people go too fast.
ReplyDeleteBut But... I voted for the Go Bond. Dumb asses
The rained washed all of the dirt, that is used to grow the pansies, out of the potholes and the parks and rec department has not put more dirt in the potholes.
ReplyDeleteBut we's get'en a new aerioport.
ReplyDelete>>>Oh no! Potholes! but we live in a part of the country where potholes happen every year! What do we do? I mean it freezes, they put salt down, it thaws, the asphalt expands and contracts. I mean if we only knew what causes them then we could do something about it! Oh no, why has God forsaken us? Potholes! whaaaaa! Whaaaa!!!!!
ReplyDelete^^^^ shouldn’t you be watching Maude marathons today???
ReplyDeleteSmart city my ass, no wonder nobody wants to live here let alone start a business here.
ReplyDelete7:31: Indeed "we live in a part of the country where potholes happen every year!" Unfortunately we also live in a city which does little if anything to repair the potholes while spending OUR tax dollars instead on subsidies for the wealthy and a fixed rail fair weather only tourist amusement ride.
ReplyDeleteMaybe now that we know that people won't be such April fools when they vote for a new council and mayor this time.
^^but if they never repaired the potholes, wouldn't the roads be completely destroyed? Wouldn't they have crumbled to dust by now? I mean what are all those trucks filling the streets that I see everywhere? You mean they aren't repairing them? Oh my God! My God no!!! Is our President aware of this? What's he doing about it??? Somebody help us???????? Please!!!!!!
ReplyDelete^^LOL!!! +10000!
ReplyDeleteI hit a chuckhole the other night that dang near knocked my eyeteeth out.
ReplyDelete@7:47 Everybody knows you are 7:58 also. Get help.
ReplyDelete7:47: "[A] city that does little if anything to repair potholes" is not the same as a city that NEVER does anything, but your reductio ad absurdum argument is pretty much proof you're Gopher posting anonymously. And probably giving yourself a +10000 for being so clever.
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone who lives in or drives in the city of Kansas City who does not think this city does as little as possible when it comes to maintaining existing infrastructure? If so, I'd recommend a trip from Belinder to Ward Parkway on 75th Street for a quick lesson on JOCO maintenance versus Kansas City maintenance.
I just drive around in my Hummer truck with my small pecker...potholes don't bother me at all!
ReplyDeleteNeed that pothole money to put up MLK signs on Paseo and support 18th and Vine.
ReplyDeleteWhere do I get my Clay Chastain yard sign?
ReplyDeleteSlie is now the worst mayor in the history of KCMO.
ReplyDeletePot holes are pretty bad in KCMO and are getting a lot worse over the last year. People on here can deny it but i don't care. Something does need to be done.
