7 DETECTIVES FIRED, MORE DISCIPLINED!!!! KCPD CHIEF APOLOGIZES AND SEYZ 'WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS' AFTER INTERNAL INVESTIGATION OVER HANDLING OF CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN!!!

Roundup of today's coverage a hope at improvement for local law enforcement.

Here's brief look at the sitch with links for more reporting . . .

KCPD Chief: Conclusion of the investigation into the Crimes Against Children Section

I'd like to discuss the conclusion of our internal investigation into the Crimes Against Children Unit. I think it’s very important to share what we’ve done to correct problems, protect our city’s most vulnerable victims and restore trust in the Kansas City Missouri Police Department.

Sincerely, I am disappointed. This investigation revealed issues with the organization as well as individual commanders, supervisors and detectives. I am disappointed because I know we are better than this. On behalf of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, I want to apologize to the children and families who did not receive the service they should expect from us. I also want to apologize to the people of Kansas City, who rightfully expect their police department to provide excellent service to vulnerable victims. You will see our improvement in the steps we’ve taken to correct these problems and provide exemplary service and justice . . .

Spring cleaning?

Interesting, he's actually taking responsibility and working to make chances. That's a far cry from his predecessor and a sign of hope.

Anonymous said...

They didn't fire enough. The Chief should consider resigning.

Anonymous said...

Dog and pony show. Nothing is going to change.

Anonymous said...

^^^^ +100

Anonymous said...

The step to change it don't really involve much help for victims who have already suffered this neglect. Agree that the Chief should step down.

Anonymous said...

Another kind of crime that KCPD doesn't solve.

Angie said...

The Chief won't last very long after this, KCPD hates real change and if he is really expecting to change the "culture" of the police then he's already on bowrroed time as the leader of the department.

Anonymous said...

^^^^ Too negative. The Chief actually has a lot of support and now it seems as if he's willing to do something other than talk. That is rare for anyone in KC.

Anonymous said...

SUPPORT KCPD!

Don't fire them.

Real KC said...

So this is the situation:

You get fired for doing your job at KCPD if some "activist" complains.

And then you get fired for not doing your job.

NO way to win here.

KC has the best police force in the midwest. Do not take out your stupid comments on them!

Anonymous said...

So they dragged the entire thing out so some of the good ole boys could retire like and take a job at st Luke’s . Then they let several others retire without discipline. So really the only ones who got punished where the younger officers who basically had no supervision. Yeah I fault this Chief the same Chief who ran interference for the Kansas City archdiocese when several cases of abuse where presented to the police dept. he took care of the Church and the church made him Chief.

Anonymous said...

This did not happen under his watch! He is covering for his predecessor which is not right but, he did take responsibility which deserves respect.

Anonymous said...

^^^^^^^ +100 it's about time we had some people with real knowledge on this post!

Guac said...

Chief forte's real legacy.

Don't worry, he's doing the same bang up job at jackson county now.

Anonymous said...

The Chief did the right thing and deserves support for his actions. Other people in Kc government just let the same old problems go on and on.

Anonymous said...

Now this post I can actually say is correct and I agree.

Anonymous said...

Yea u guys think being Chief is easy on 500 thousand , I wouldn’t take that job

Anonymous said...

^^^^ Good point.

Miss Allen said...

KC needs to protect young people.

We must do better.

Anonymous said...

Well so what do you call the white guys who failed to supervise them. I call them trash but u call them retired

Anonymous said...

I'm sure that the City deciding to terminate these officers and go public right at the same time that the officers' representation wasn't available to get the other side was purely coincidental.

That is if you believe in coincidences...

Greer said...

^^^^^^ +1

We need MORE details about this investigation and more public information. It shouldn't just stop at the firings. The public should know how it got so bad.

Barney Frank said...

Rick Smith took it on the chin for a large portion of Forte negligence.

Anonymous said...

^^^^^^ Absolutely agree.

Barney Frank said...

Winner^^^^...He got the shaft and Sly and Forte are laughing away as they shave with dull blades

Anonymous said...

Forte was the worst, even for a black guy.

Barney Frank said...

So Forte retires just in time and the shitstorm falls on a guy that Sly didnt like for the job in the first place, gotta call a spade a spade.

Anonymous said...

Great police force. Such a shame they don’t ever solve any crimes.

Anonymous said...

Based on this the KCFD will fire the captain for selling guns illegally.

Anonymous said...

Sly said he was tired of the KCPD bitching about not having enough money to expand the force so officers don't have to work impossible case loads a few years back.

Anonymous said...

Just take officers off the streets to work on following though on these cases. The shooters and criminals won't mind at all.

Anonymous said...

1,000 cases a year handled by 17 officers? Okay

Anonymous said...

Wow, this is encouraging and disconcerting at the same time. Good for them for taking needed actions. Now solve the black-on-white hate crimes of Jonathan Porter and Jeffery McDonald and Harry Stone. No other higher priority.

Anonymous said...

Anyone in KCMO that still has a functioning brain knows the police department is in a no win situation here in Killer City.

Anonymous said...

Did Councilmember Teresa Loar recuse herself from all this? Her son is a KCMO POLICE OFFICIER and beyond that conflict of interest she has her own criminal convictions to worry about.

Anonymous said...

Blame anyone but Sly for this city circling the drain.

Anonymous said...

Did Crime Task Force Leader Jolie Justus say.. wow our police can not handle this work load. Something needs to be done, as long as it doesn't interfere with my Real Estate holdings?

Anonymous said...

Look at the bright side the savings from firing those officers should amount to enough to pay off Fortes overtime bill.

Anonymous said...

Rick smith took it on the chin alright from those pedophile priest he protected

Anonymous said...

^^^^ Stfu

Anonymous said...

Man that's really tough to lose your job over some worthless negro spawn whom we all agree would be better off if they'd never been born.

Anonymous said...

Well the lame ass white trash supervisors Hess , lindeman are the ones who shoulda been fired.

Anonymous said...

Read the whole story basically they are no longer detectives they were not fired from their job. This some alternative narrative shit.

Anonymous said...

Attaboy! Way to stick with The Truth!

Anonymous said...

Thanks to fortes dumbass this shouldn’t have happened, he was not a leader and incapable of running the police dept. and just because he was black he got hired to run kcpd and the Jackson co. Sheriff’s dept. he’ll screw that up too and it will cost the taxpayers even more money.

Anonymous said...

Just like Trump, the Chief speak the truth. He is a real man and a real leader!

Anonymous said...

I really like that there is accountability.

The Chief made a tough decision today. He did the right thing. He is a far better leader than most that we've had in KCPD history.

Anonymous said...

no one got fired, they all left, resigned or retired before this came down from the chief. Again no one was fired. All but one commander retired and only one remains from this shit show. KCPD trying to look like they did the right thing, but the commanders that left, retired with full pensions.

Anonymous said...

5:49p, that is 5 cases a month for each officer, is that a lot?

Anonymous said...

Their parents must do better.

Anonymous said...

Don’t even bring up the Fire department. They would have hosed those kids down and laughed at them, just like they did that hobo last week.

Anonymous said...

no win situation? true, the ship going down with Sly and Jolie.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the not fired comments, I think that information is important we'll only get it on this blog. Very smart comments.

Anonymous said...

No one was fired! They are no longer on the police department because they retired or resigned. 0 fired.

While Forte’ was stealing overtime to the tune of a half a million dollars the commanders he promoted were ignoring a problem that everyone knew we had. We lost so many detectives we couldn’t keep up. We lost 150 officers over 10 years, and never replaced them. We created the horse unit, NOVA, Victims assistance, CIT Squad, Real Time Crime Analysts, more admin sergeants than we have ever had, the captains mentor program, staff inspection majors, and many more. Detectives were losing 20 work days a year to Forte’s bullshit hotspot program, as they couldn’t work their cases, but sit in police cars.

Forte wasn’t a leader, he was a thief and a liar. He alone created this mess. He promoted DC after DC that had no clue how to run that bureau. Hundley, Hopkins and Rose were incompetent boobs who did little, except embarrass themselves. When the Chief said we are better than this he is wrong. This is exactly who we are. Our promotions are made based on friendships and servitude. If they promise to kiss the king’s ring they get promoted, but our commanders will not stand up and call bullshit, for fear of not getting promoted again.

When we start prosecuting the white woman who lied on Emmit Till, all the whites who are alive and participated in hangings in the 60s and 70s and all the your Grand parents who are Nazis who committed atrocities who now reside in Amerikka then we can prosecute these suspects. Remember accountability starts with you

Anonymous said...

Damn, wait until the police find out about what happens to kids at planned parenthood

Anonymous said...

This sounds like a cop who didn’t get promoted
