ReplyDeleteSo here's how it played out at my work. About 1/2 of the employees got the flu shot. It was free. The most common reason cited for why people were skipping the flu shot: "it gave me the flu. the one year I got the shot, I got the flu so now I skip it."
ReplyDeleteSo this year.... flu hits work hard. Lots of people missing work recently. We require Dr. notes if you take leave during a holiday so people are actually going to get checked.
Verdict: two people out of 50 who got the flu shot has been infected.
Every single case of the flu has been an unvaccinated person. 35 of 50 who skipped the shot have or are infected. They've lost, each, about $500 in potential overtime and holiday bonus money. Not to mention the agony and potential life threatening compilations.
^^^Bull shit.
