  5. CNG is a loser from the get go, especially if they're talking about replacing haul (short or long) trucks in the 20k+ range. CNG has less BTU available than either gas or diesel. CNG retro-fit engines are significantly less efficient than both gas and diesel. I would suspect even designed CNG engines are less efficient as well. CNG works well for: subterranean use, enclosed spaces, very remote areas where long-term storage is needed as gas and diesel do not store well over 6-12 months.
