  1. I am guessing the real reason Claire is so a dry and bitter is because it’s been years since she received a good, proper fucking. She has enough money to pay someone to pound her hard. Maybe that will improve her disposition.

  2. That fact that she is mystified by Ocasio-Cortez win is why she lost.

  3. After her dramatic win election, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez booked a flight to Washington so that she might find an apartment in Seattle close to work as she embarks upon her mission to bring glorious Socialism to America.

She commented that she was pleased to see the volcano covered with snow as this will keep the lava nice and cool and prevent eruptions while helping to fight global warming.

Upon seeing the Space Needle for the first time, she came up with a plan to increase NASA's budget so that they might finally have the funds to launch it.

In the "Show Me" state, Claire was hoping for the radical, socialist left wing tail to wag the Democrat dog and came in a distant second to common sense and a few more years of sanity before demographics turn America into Venezuela.

Cortez and her ilk are America's future and they will run through our blood and treasure faster than her namesake, Hernan Cortez ran through the fuckin Aztecs. Stock up on toilet paper, idiots like Cortez and bus drivers like Maduro will be making decisions in the not too distant future.

  4. Chuck please learn your history, Cortez lost every battle he ever fought the Aztecs. It was European disease that defeated the indigenous people and paved the way for the conquest.

  5. In the end, Claire did the right thing by not pushing socialism. You have to respect her for that.

  6. 10:10 Incorrect. Disease was part of it, but here is the history, from the BBC. This is corroborated by most every book I have ever read on the issue.

In 1518 Cortés persuaded Velázquez, who was now governor, to make him commander of an expedition to Mexico. It had only recently been discovered by Europeans and was rumoured to contain great wealth.

Shortly before Cortés set sail, Velázquez, who was now suspicious of his motives, cancelled his commission. Cortés ignored Velázquez and set out. On arrival he established a settlement (now Veracruz) and made local allies.

The major civilisation in the region was that of the Aztecs, led by Montezuma II. Cortés headed for the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlán, which was a three-month journey over difficult terrain. It is thought that Cortés’ arrival coincided with an Aztec prophecy about a white-skinned god arriving from the east, which would explain why Montezuma welcomed Cortés and gave him lavish gifts. However, relations quickly deteriorated and, fearing an attack, Cortés took Montezuma hostage, demanding a huge ransom from his people.

In April 1520, Velázquez sent an expedition to capture Cortés. As Cortés left to fight the expedition, an Aztec revolt began in Tenochtitlán. Cortés returned and obliged Montezuma to face the crowd, but the Aztec leader was struck by a stone and died. The Spanish were driven out of the city, incurring heavy losses.

  7. Cortés re-organised his forces and in 1521 returned to Tenochtitlán, which fell after a three-month siege. A new settlement, Mexico City, was built on the ruins and settled with Spanish colonists, becoming the centre of Spanish America. Cortés secured control over Mexico, inflicting great cruelty on the indigenous population. Western diseases such as smallpox also caused huge fatalities.

In 1523 Cortés was named governor and captain general of New Spain. In 1528, amid Spanish fears that he was becoming too powerful, he was forced to return to Spain where the king reinstated him as captain general, but not to the position of civil governor. On his return to Mexico, his powers were significantly limited and his activities monitored. He continued to explore Central America, hoping to find a strait from the Atlantic to the Pacific. He failed, instead discovering, and naming, California.

  8. 10:10, I think you're wrong about that. While disease ultimately did clear Mesoamerica and make total conquest easier, Cortez did defeat the Aztecs in a multi day battle in Tenochtitlan. Cortez and his Spaniards were greatly outnumbered by their Indian allies, who had reason to hate the Aztecs and want them exterminated. But Cortez was the leader of all.

  9. Chuck is so easily sidetracked and obviously unstable. Please get him the help he needs. He's doesn't know his history nor does he understand economic policy. Politicians have a name for people like this. They're called useful idiots.

  10. McCaskill's revenge should be against the Republicans, not her own party. THAT is why she lost.

  11. Agree with Hyperglobal. If Claire can't understand why Ocasio-Cortez won, Claire is not the progressive she pretends to be.
