MERRY CHRISTMAS KANSAS CITY FROM OUR GULLY TKC BLOG COMMUNITY!!!

We disagree, argue and offer more than our fair share of hateration but all of it is borne out of concern for the destiny of this wicked little town.

Whilst most denizens of the political discourse tune out local issues so that they can dazzle one another by (poorly) mimicking talking points crafted by beltway insiders and repeated on cable TV talk shows . . . Instead, our blog community takes a deep dive on municipal topics and considers the street level repercussions of mostly horrific public policy powered by the small town corporate elite and pushed forward their miserable lackeys.

We don't win every argument and both local newsies and politicos spend a great deal of time denying the impact of our conversation. But they read it nonetheless.

The TKC discourse isn't the gift that Kansas City wants but it's the conversation this town deserves.

And so we thank the denizens of our blog community and express our GRATITUDE for the ability to talk local news, culture and politics in a way that's more real, captivating and informed than any other news source thanks to our community of readers, commenters, AWESOME TIPSTERS and INSIDERS.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO KANSAS CITY AND THANK YOU FOR READING!!!

Hope everyone checking the blog has a nice, peaceful and relaxing holiday.

    2. Thank you for actually writing Christmas and not using X-mas. It's nice to see people acknowledge that this nation celebrate the birth of The Christ and not just that Santa garbage. For better or worse, this is a Christian nation and one that is just starting to come to terms with its identity and its future.

  9. Merry Christmas, Tony. You're my go-to since giving up the Star.

Love your denizens (even the bat-crap crazy ones).

Also, Merry Xmas, Tony, because "its origins lie in the fact that the first letter in the Greek word for ‘Christ’ is ‘chi,’ and the Greek letter ‘chi’ is represented by a symbol similar to the letter ‘X’ in the modern Roman alphabet. Hence ‘Xmas’ is indeed perfectly legitimate abbreviation for the word ‘Christmas’ (just as ‘Xian’ is also sometimes used as an abbreviation of the word ‘Christian’" (credit Snopes).

Television evangelists get a lot of traction, and money, by manufacturing a war on Christmas.

  11. Merry Christmas TKC and thank you for posting content that makes one see this town in another more "real" perspective. Most of the links contain pieces that really make you think about things in a different way, kind of like a nice fat blunt of some fine Colorado Kush but without the smell.

  12. Merry Christmas Tony and to your family as well.

Merry Christmas to all my TKC fans and enemies alike.

Christmas is a happy time for friends and family,
The children are excited as they unwrap presents around the tree.

Carols are sung and lights twinkle in the night.
Jack Frost glistens on the windows, and the snow sparkles from the winter moonlight.

Christmas is such a joyous time to appreciate the ones we love.
This Christmas I want to send wishes to those we lost up above.

To some, Christmas is not the same because a loved one passed away,
And the grief is overwhelming each and every day.

When the holidays approach, we miss them even more,
Traditions never feel the same, and memories are all we have left to adore.

We will always remember their name and never forget their faces,
And as long as we keep them in our hearts, they can never be erased.

So this Christmas, my wish is for everyone who is feeling a little blue
To find some peace, joy, and comfort with everything you do.

Christmas isn't just a season; it's a feeling, and the magic never ends.
One of its greatest gifts is to cherish family and friends.

Merry Christmas to all our special angels up above.
Merry Christmas to you all. I send you all my love.

  13. On this one day, just this day, everyone park their prejudices and hate on the side of the conversations. Enjoy family, friends and acquaintances maybe a bit of cider or libation (not too much). Merry Christmas one and all.

And as this Christmas nears it's final hours, I wish to thank Tony for this blog and the opportunity to frequently express my opinion.

Thanks also to all those who routinely offer their strong opinions with thoughtful words and limited mud-slinging of profanity.

The TKC blog = still KC's finest last bastion of free-speech discourse!
