Lesson In Fear: Kansas City Public Radio Pushes Sleaze Scummit Racial Drama Amid Otherwise Boring School Boundary Shift

Read between the lines on this one and close observers might notice a newsie trolling for social media in order to search for racial drama and not finding much other than habitual parent griping about the school board and any inconvenience to their daily routine of quiet desperation. Put simply, there was no "money shot" despite the otherwise captivating clickbait headline . . .

As Lee's Summit Redraws School Boundaries, White Parents Don't Want To Talk About Race

  1. The same furor and anger took place in the SMSD when some of the SME district was moved to SMS. Was race a factor? No. Many people made what is probably the largest investment of their lives with the expectation that their child went to certain schools that have better test scores, grades, sports, etc. than other schools. For 99.9% of parents and homeowners, demographics of the school were not even a consideration. Who cares what the racial makeup of a school is if its students are high performers?

Once that boundary is changed, home values change, your child's peer groups change, and the dynamic of neighborhoods changes as they affiliate with a new school. There are valid reasons people become passionate about boundary changes. It's too bad that the superintendent is trying to make it about race.

  2. "White Parents Don't Want To Talk About Race" And black parents want to talk about nothing but race. Put the two together and we have a happy medium. Scandal gone.

  3. Disagree! I graduated from Lee's Summit we had one black girl that attended for a short time, one of my teachers openly said she passed a class that she shouldn't have simply because she was black! There is racial discrimination in schools that have a black and white population. That's a fact and will never change! Race is a factor!

  4. The problem is that white people are only allowed to talk about race using special language, in special contexts, and using special training so as not to damage black frailty and privilege.

  7. Reporter Elle Moxley attempts to stir up the racial pot by quoting a black Lee's Summit West High School student who's talking up her school while at a football game.

The actual problem out there (according to extended family) is their new black school superintendent who moved over from Hickman Mills is obsessed about making everything race-based. If he keeps it up, parents will revolt against him and the board.

  9. I am not sure why this is surprising. White people in Kansas City make every decision based off avoiding non-white people. All other races exist just fine with each other in KC but not whitey. Whitey throws a tantrum when they have to exist in any non-white spaces.

    1. That must be because Whitey ends up being accused of everything, while still paying in many ways for the criminality and dysfunction of others.

But dat be rayciss n shee.

  10. @11:36 "--all other races exist just fine with each other". On what planet ? That must be why West Coast MS13 gangsters ethnically cleanse entire neighborhoods of Blacks. Diversity is shit, nobody wants it.

  11. Redrawing the lines in the early 90s killed SM West. What was a great school was decimated by drastically changing its demographics.

  12. Living through and nothing for us is changing.. the problem nobody wants to bring up is the fact almost all of the section 8 housing is zoned to go to one school.. this then stresses the resources of that school. I understand the homeowners of Winterset’s fury, but get over it..
