"Since the city is (hopefully) aggressively looking for new revenue streams, and since I have since seen recent correspondence from the FAA saying, “we do not anticipate the use of federal funds in the KCI Terminal Replacement Project,” I again call the city’s attention to Amazon Air (formerly Prime Air) Amazon’s rapidly growing air cargo arm."

  7. Sure starting to look as though Sly James' only "legacy" will be that he managed to bankrupt Kansas City for even longer than Kay Barnes did.

  9. Kay Barnes P&L district is bankrupting city.
When will there be a Star investigation of the details of the cost of refinancing the Baltimore Cordish P&L bonds in 2014 as a lead-up to Sly's re-election in 2015? Reportedly fifteen million annual subsidy lowered in 2014 and 2015 to five million dollars. Why? Only apparent reason was to help Sly's re-election in 2015. Reported cost of extending was to extend bond repayment and increase debt. Was $36 million added to $297 million Cordish P&L debt? Who besides the bond dealers benefited from this ploy?

    1. Mr 11:27 please continue on the subject of the city’s debt obligations for the subsidized drinking district aka power & light. The re-fi etc. my understanding of it is the project revenues HAVE NEVER met expenses and the city general funds are tapped to the tune of about ten million a year.... thanks.
