Kansas City Shot Spotter Stays Losing?!?!

EXCELLENT JOURNALISM from KCTV5 asks important questions about local tech that offers surveillance of local communities but hasn't lived up to promises.

The main point . . .

IF SHOT SPOTTER IS SO GREAT WHEN WHY DOES RAMPANT GUNFIRE PERSIST ON KANSAS CITY STREETS?!?!?

Here's TV news taking the topic to task:

Does ShotSpotter really help reducing crime in Kansas City?

  2. Is it because there aren't enough cops on the streets? If you call 911 chances are you get put on hold, so how can they take time to do anything else when there are so many calls? I think what the tax payers are paying for is Sly's screw ups with a high crime city not enough cops and his fat pockets getting fatter. Funny how 55th st between Wornall and Ward Pkwy have so many holes you can't even drive straight you have to dodge the holes big ones too. And gee how much do those folks pay in taxes????? A LOT! But Sly can sure cut the cops back and give to the developers. Everything in this city that has go wrong is the fault of the low life dirty face Sly. He makes me sick!

  5. Dayam! I didn’t know cops got paid $164,000 a year, hell just pay me that and I’ll tell you where they are, shit everybody knows it’s in the hood, what an embarrassment and waste of taxpayer money

  6. Well, if Sly and Sleepy Quinton are involved, you know some little white envelopes are hitting desks at 12th and Oak!

  7. Just a new toy, we need more police on the street. That's what KC really wants.

  8. Slie's favorite expression about using technology to improve situations and this is a perfect example of Slie's technology failing. Technology will only get you so far and then you need boots on the ground and people that can think to take you the rest of the way.

KCMO cannot put more boots on the ground because Slie has funneled all available funds to the developers. Guess what, Slie wants to raise taxes so more money will go to the developers and KCMO's basic services fail.
