Given that our often curmudgeonly reader community seems to be taking local life and news just a bit too seriously. Here's a quick glimpse at the more intriguing question of lady desire in the post-modern era . . .
The pleasure revolution: the sex women really want
"For far too long, women have been playing catch-up when it comes to sex. From female desire to sex tech, Sharon Walker talks to five women at the forefront of radical change . . ."
Similarly . . .
PAY HEED: THIS KANSAS CITY DENIZEN ARGUES FOR MORE HUMAN INTERACTION VIA INCREASED TRANSIT OPTIONS!!!
It's an interesting proposition that has some merit for anybody who hasn't been forced to quietly ignore an angrily ranting hobo on the bus.
Check the argument . . .
"He believes we're all much more alike than we are similar, and if we could swap walking for driving and engage in more dialogue with our neighbors, we'd all come to that conclusion, too."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
Bus isn't so bad during rush hour. The more people the safer it usually is. Trouble usually happens on the lower traffic routes that are too isolated.
ReplyDeleteWish KC would invest in the bus more than the streetcar.
^^^^ Only hipsters can ride the streetcar, that way they all get along. It's not for the rest of KC just a few downtown workers who have good jobs.
DeleteGet back on the bus. Sorry.
Saving money on car payments is great and a good idea. That's why Uber and the e-scooters are the better ideas but both of those options don't really force you to interact with people, which is kind of the point. The days of hipsters mixing with the common folk are over. Mobile apps allow us the option of NEVER having to interact with anybody and that's not a bad thing.
DeleteDoor Dash has made life so much better for us all. My sympathies for those of us who still have to talk to people to purchase goods and services.
ReplyDeleteMay not agree with the guy but I'm glad he's out there. Now I gotta get back to WINNING at fortnite.
DeleteNormally I just on occasion look up from my phone and glare at someone for a second, like eww who are you? then go back to my phone to check my twitter status. Being a superior person to everyone else my twitter social ranking is very important to my well being.
ReplyDeleteHuman Interaction IN KCMO?
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
Get onto the bus, that's going to take you back to Beelzebub
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a nice sentiment but agree with comment at 9:14. You're always better off minding your own business.
ReplyDeleteEverybody is your friend on a Bird scooter. Believe it. And then really pay attention to traffic and get off of the damn sidewalk.
ReplyDeletePeople will make all sorts of new friends when they extend the toy train to UMKC
ReplyDeleteKCMO's problems are multiplying, and the conditions for a perfect storm are rapidly coming together.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the chao$
Dude in the picture is an archtypal, Progressive Beta Male. He is reading the Huff Post instead of porking the chick because he gets off reading about Toxic Masculinity more than checking his girlfriend's oil.
ReplyDeleteHe is totally hipster. He doesn't "do" guy things. The only way that guy would eat a hot dog, is if it were in a man bun. Little dude, he weighs an Instagram.
He might shove his house cured meat into her if she got him a Starbucks gift card, but, with the lights off and his eyes closed while he thought about Craft Beer.
Was that supposed to be funny? Why are you up so late? Did the wind wake you up? Why aren't you dead yet?
DeleteVery nice Chuck. That was good stuff and right on the money. Looks like you offended one of the fellow snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t that what glory holes are for?
ReplyDelete^^^^^^ Don't know but I have a feeling @1:12 can tell us A LOT about that kind of behavior. Just be sure to wrap it up when you go aboard that streetcar.
ReplyDeletePublic transit can be a great resource when it actually has the support of the city and not just a few people who are profiting from their own private contracts.
ReplyDeleteWhy not make the bus free for all and forget the streetcar?
ReplyDelete^^^^ Excellent idea!
DeleteThe Metro is not part of the City. Who pays wages, costs, infrastructure if free? There is no free lunch, except on one mile of city funded street car
ReplyDelete^^^^Bus fares account for 15% of Metro revenues according to info provided when the last Metro tax was up for renewal. If you consider the labor involved in collecting and accounting for bus fares, it would be pretty close to a wash. If we can build luxury high rises and new hotels for the wealthy, surely we can provide transportation for the needy. It's a matter of priorities.
