WDAF owner Tribune Media reportedly will sell to Nexstar - Kansas City Business Journal

WDAF Fox 4 is getting a new owner, according to a report. Nexstar Media Group has reached a deal to buy Tribune Media Co. in a transaction worth about $4.1 billion, Reuters reports. Word of the deal comes after Tribune walked away from an agreement to sell to Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.

Tribune's long and desperate adventure to sell its stations, including WDAF-TV, reaches another mark. Nexstar reportedly won a second-round of bidding with an all-cash $6.4 billion offer. Nexstar faces a lot of the same hurdles as Sinclair did in its attempt to buy Tribune in that it will be way over the cap, and it must divest stations in eleven conflict-markets. This comes at an interesting time, with Tribune buyouts claiming some longtime WDAF-TV talent (not officially announced, by the way). Building renovations, including a new set, are also in progress."

I hope they buy out Mark Alford.
