Go Bond Waiting Game: Don't Hold Your Breath For New Kansas City Sidewalks
Just a quick note from a recent Kansas City P&Z meeting that our readers wanted us to take note of . . .
City Hall will be sending out inspectors to survey sites for new sidewalks because locals are confronting increasing demands to keep big promises that have yet to be fulfilled.
GO Bond Cash is dwindling quick and those new sidewalks will cost more. Curb & gutter fees will hit local neighborhoods who are going to have to raise some of their own cash for sidewalks in a somewhat new-ish "50/50 match" clause that anybody asking for new sidewalks.
Look for City Hall to attempt to develop a new(er) web app so locals can see when they'll get their new sidealks . . . Which should be never for anybody who doesn't live near downtown. Sorry.
