Longtime local leader Jack Gant, 90, dies

Jack Gant, a former state legislator and longtime judge in Eastern Jackson County, died Sunday night. He was 90."Family was his No. 1 thing," said his nephew, Mike Kirkham, a local attorney.Gant, who grew up in Independence, served in the Marines shortly after World War II.

I was about to ask that myself. During this holiday season let's remember all the families grieving murdered loved ones due to the actions of Jackson County Judges.

He was my baseball coach when I was a kid, really really nice guy and a great family too
