Blame Prez Trump For Kevin Yoder FAIL?!?!

The candidate didn't pick a side and/or suburban JoCo housewives present and irresistible force paradox that's weakening Kansas Republicans.

Here's the dead-tree takeaway:

Kevin Yoder: Criticizing Trump wouldn't be winning strategy | The Kansas City Star

Rep. Kevin Yoder is leaving office next month. In a candid interview with The Star Editorial Board, the Republican discusses President Donald Trump, social media and future House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

  1. Where are all the commenters who suffer from Claire Derangement Syndrome?

Of course it wasn't your fault you got your ass handed to you, Kevin buddy. As with everything else that fails, it was Obama's fault!

  2. The Star never said or gave him credit for anything good he did but demonized him and then he wastes his time talking the Star, he deserved to lose.

  3. ^^^ Good point @ 7:18. But I don't think he's wasting his time. He wasnt to be governor or Senator. He'll need the Star for that.

  7. The News-Dog would offer that while Representative Yoder might be in the forefront of the picture and the subject of the interview, the bigger story is what's in the background of the picture at The Star. Nothing. No people, empty desks, a folding table leaned up against some cabinets like its moving day, blank TV monitors hanging from the ceiling, all on a bleak, grey backdrop. If you needed any more evidence that the "major Daily" is on its last dying legs, this picture is a shining example of "how the mighty have fallen."

  8. The reason Yoder lost is because he did a totally inadequate job of representing his district. Everyone I've known who contacted him about an issue that was important to them was brushed off and dismissed (unless they happened to be advocating what the party overlords had demanded). People have had enough of it. Sharice David's biggest selling point was that she was not Yoder. Good bye and good riddance.

  9. ^^^ Brushed off and dismissed everyone, *except* his donors.

That's who he has always represented. That's why he lost.

If he had core principles he used to govern by, he could have survived.

Instead he constantly changed his image from college Democrat, to Christian conservative, to Cleaver's friend and partner, to Tea Party debt hawk, to compromises on immigration, to Trump supporter... all to be the worst type of politician. Say anything and everything to get a vote, but never mean any of it.

The only opinion that matters to him is the writer of the campaign check.
