Amid Endless War Kansas City Homeless Veterans Earn Free Hamburgers!!!

A very kind gesture that probably brightened the day of these troops living on local streets. Still, the story points out a stark reality.

Overall, U.S. official claim the number of Veteran homelessness is down following nearly epidemic numbers. But there is reasonable doubt about those stats.

MT: Fewer veterans were homeless in 2018, after a worrisome rise last year

Meanwhile, there's just a bit of Christmas hope that Prez Trump will end an enduring American conflict overseas . . .

LA Times: The war in Afghanistan isn’t a ‘stalemate.’ The U.S. has lost

  1. While we are on the subject of war, can anyone logically explain why we are in Afghanistan ? Don't say just to make George Bush's buddies richer, has to be more to it than that.

  2. ^^nope. Go watch Vice when it hits theaters on Christmas. It will be abundantly clear to you then.

  4. Vets are just tools who signed up to kill on government orders. Now they aren't needed. Who cares about a bunch of war criminals?

  5. Once we leave Afghanistan and the government falls apart (due to deep seated corruption that is and always will be there) someone will fill that vacuum. It will not be good people. We can either stay and manage Afghanistan into perpetuity or leave and hope some fundamentalists don't try to blow up buildings in our country again. Not pleasant options either way.

  6. ^^first rule of war. Never get involved in a land war in Asia. Nobody heeded it.

  7. @ 8:43 the US Government may fall apart "due to deep seated corruption" as you say, but that isn't going to happen just because we pull out of Afghanistan.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEIR ASSES HOME!

  8. @8:43, it wasn't "Islamic fundamentalists: that blew up the NY Twin Towers, it was the Saudi Arabian Royal Family!

And we punished them for it too - we destroyed the only challenge to their control of the Middle Eastern Oil Wells for them!

Let's hear it for Ambassador Prescott Bush, one of the creators of Saudi Arabia (and for his son and grandson, too)!

  12. 9:55 - I was talking about the government in AFGHANISTAN falling apart due to corruption and the US pulling out. Remove the tin foil hat for a moment dude. Yes, I'm aware our government has it's own issues.

10:01 - Fundamentalists, who were Saudis, and were allowed to train and plan IN AFGHANISTAN. Keep up. SA is a whole other ball of wax with it's own issues.

Again, either option is really not good.

  13. @ 1:52, thanks for the attempted "tinfoil hat" insult, your scorn is a plus to me. I know what you were saying, Mr. Dumas, I was making a joke, ever hear of those?

Now, of course there will be chaos in Afghanistan, there hasn't been any stability there since Genghis Kahn depopulated the area in the 1200s. But you are wrong in what you said, the planning of the Twin Towers attack took place in Saudi Arabia, and the 22 terrorists (19 Saudis, 2 Yeminis raised in SA, 1 Omani schooled in SA)were all trained in the US, over here on "student" visas as part of the US "foreign aid" to the Saudis, so they could expand their airlines.

The "training camps" in Afghanistan were set up with US funding when Osama bin Lauden (a Saudi Royal cousin) took over leadership of the (US financed) "freedom fighters" during the Russian Occupation.

I have absolutely no problem with the destruction of Islamic Terrorists, I simply feel we should have been eliminating the main sponsor, rather than chasing foot soldiers around in the Pamir's.

But the Bush Family's long standing alliances with the House of ibn Saud precluded (and still does) any actions to root out the core of Fundamentalism in the Middle East. So let's declare a victory and come home, as we did in Korea, Vietnam, Nicaragua, panama, and...
