AFTERMATH: PREZ TRUMP CHAMPIONED PRISON REFORM IN KANSAS CITY AND PARTISAN HACKS DIDN'T NOTICE!!!

The mainstream narrative for this week's Prez Trump visit focused mostly on misstatements and culture war distractions whilst this excellent report on a more progressive policy initiative from The White House was mostly ignored but deserves consideration amid an increasing skepticism about the viability of the prison-industrial complex and the shocking fact that the U.S. still locks up more people than communist China.

Trump in KC: All would benefit from prison reform

Prison reform would help inmates gain more skills that could be used in the workforce and would "get them on the right track," President Donald Trump said during a national law enforcement conference Friday in Kansas City. Trump spoke during the 2018 Project Safe Neighborhoods national conference - hosted by the United States Department of Justice - at the Westin Crown Center.

The media can’t handle when President Trump says and does something right, what needs to be done, it goes against the hate narrative.

  6. Trump's son in law is a liberal at heart and his pernicious ideologies will kill people he has never met and would never have a beer with. Politicians are not naive. All talks of white privilege and institutional racism serve the same purpose: the destruction of the rule of law. It is part of a deliberate and carefully planned process using sanctuary cities and the release of criminal aliens into the system. It is socially engineered chaos and violence that is part of the "fundamental transformation" process from a constitutional republic to some sort of Third World oligarchy. Those driving the process are white billionaires who think the world is their playground. The victims are white middle class who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. We live in a topsy turvy world.

The pretense that blacks are victims racist police is an unambiguated lie that flies in the face of logic. Blacks commit more crimes, so blacks go to jail more frequently than other folks. P.E.R.I.O.D.

    Crime is committed not, caused.

Here in KC, we are going to hit around 140 murders. The percentage of murders solved here in KC, is around 50%. The murders solved, reveal that 80 to 90 percent are committed by blacks. There is no reason, at all, to pretend that the murders that are not solved, are committed by whites, or anyone else.

Violent crime, 80 to 90% of violent crime, is committed by 12% of the population. That 12% is black. It is what it is.

Letting criminals out of jail, will result in the deaths, beatings and rapes of innocent people. It might make Liberals feel good over in JoCo where they vote for idiots like Sharice Davids and rub elbows with the swells at Christmas parties we would never be allowed to attend, but it will kill people.

But who gives a fuck if Liberals get more votes and disenfranchise the middle class even more.

  7. Chuck there hasn't been a "Middle Class" since Ronnie Reagan deliberately wrecked the Economy in 1987!

  8. Well we do know that prison, or the threat of it doesn't cure our local politico's that's obvious. Especially considering that if lack of ethics was a crime, they would be doing life sentences.

  10. The U.S. locks up more people than China because the Chinese people are afraid to commit crimes. Unlike the U.S., other governments will deal with criminals so severely (death, torture and horrible prison conditions) that it's a deterent. Unlike, here where criminals can watch cable tv, workout and buy snacks.

  11. When it was discovered that Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign was guilty of violations involving nearly $2 million – an amount that dwarfs the $280,000 in Cohen’s case – the Obama Justice Department decided not to prosecute. Instead, the matter was quietly disposed of by a $375,000 fine by the Federal Election Commission.

Worked like a charm for the libs obviously.

  12. Just how much of his talk was actual subject matter. He spent lots on politics, and about him.

  13. The great majority of the public's interaction with law enforcement and the courts is at the state, county, and local levels, and none of this big show addresses that at all.
There's certainly nothing going on in Missouri that even tries to bring some common sense and experience to change the "lock-'em-up" mentality, so lots of tax money will continue to be wasted on yesterday's facts rather than today and tomorrow's problems.
"Ban the box" and eliminating permits for ex-offender bar tenders is nickel and dime.
But learning enough about complicated issues and being able to make serious recommendations is way too much work.
Marches, protests, and speeches are easier and you might even get on local television.
    Pitiful.

  14. ^^^^ correct! Today’s politicians use recycled ideas that date back years and even decades. They just can’t think and implement new ideas because they just aren’t smart enough. That’s why taxing everything under the sun is their only answer. It’s too hard to use their brains so they steal ideas from other cities, like Indianapolis, this city and it’s ideas are based on everything they do.

  15. Chuck, while I agree with your overall sentiment, the prison-industrial complex is really part of the same globalist game that you are talking about.

In times past, societies couldn't afford to feed, clothe, and house criminals. Starvation was a real worry even for good, law-abiding folks.

Punishment is necessary for an orderly society. I am not debating that at all. But government needs to find a way to make that punishment low impact for the taxpayer and high impact for law breakers.

I know that the liberal do-gooders will always see acts of corporal punishment as barbaric, but I think a return to that model is necessary.
I think many criminals might be in favor too. If I committed a felony and was offered the choice of 7 years in jail, or 20 lashes, I would take the whipping.

As for capital punishment, since the current system spends over $1 million to execute a prisoner (trials, appeals, special accommodations and the like), I oppose it. If a person is convinced of a capital crime they should be deported to Haiti with no provisions.

Of course the central act of real prison reform would be the end of the counterproductive and exorbitantly expensive War on Drugs. It has been an abject disaster and has failed any metric you care to look at.
