TKC QUESTION: CAN JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR JEAN PETERS BAKER SAVE MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC PARTY?!?!

By now political insiders already know that the top ranking legal lady in Kansas City plans to engage in Show-Me State politics.

Check the links:

KSHB: Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker to run for Missouri Democratic Chair

KMBC: She says she will bring political experience, leadership to the race

Fox4: Peters Baker was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2010 before being appointed prosecutor in May 2011 and first elected the following year. She said she plans to seek re-election in 2020.

The news broke by way of her Tweet proclamation . . .

"It’s time for me to get off the sidelines and support a strong Democratic Party by throwing my hat in for Chair."

Local newsies have been nothing but encouraging and so far there hasn't been any analysis of her intention.

A few items to consider . . .

- She started her tenure appointed and not elected. She has never faced a real election challenge.

- Rising crime and neighborhood frustration with the Prosecutor's office threatens her leadership efforts.

- Missouri totally rejected "girl power" in the Midterm election. The Hillary Clinton/Claire McCaskill model simply doesn't work in this decidedly Red State. If she makes any progress for her party, she'll have to devise a new strategy.

Moreover, Missouri Democrats are at their lowest point in years, they were completely passed over by the so-called "blue wave" and some say the GOP Super Majority could last a few decades without any significant changes in tactics by loyal opposition.

Another key point . . . The Missouri Democratic Party has FAILED to mobilize minority communities and "Mean Jean" has a tenuous relationship with inner-city communities at best . . . Like that time when angry residents ruined her press conference in Kansas City's urban core Manheim neighborhood.

And so we ask . . .

CAN MEAN JEAN SAVE THE MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC PARTY?!?!

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Of course she can. Give her another 40 years and she'll make the missouri dems competitive!

  2. Depends on her views on unsolicited bulk email.

  3. Jean is delusional. Her "political" experience is being APPOINTED to a 85% democratic state representative position and then, of course, running unopposed in that spot...and then being APPOINTED to the Jackson County Prosecutor by federal convict Mike Sanders. She is also showing her ignorance by sending out a press release instead of reaching out to the 64 members of the state committee. It's those people that will decide who the next chair is and there are already 4 other people running.

  4. Why doesn’t Jean Petersucker Baker get off the sidelines and prosecute some of the murderers like her current job entails. If she is half as worthless as Democratic Party Chair as she is as Jackson County prosecutor, the chickenshit Democrats will never win another election outside KC and StL where all the welfare people live.

  5. Petersucker! How delightfully witty!
Because she puts penises in her mouth, no doubt! Oh, bravo, good sir! And so refreshingly original.

  6. Claire McCaskill hired Jean when she was prosecutor and you see where Claire is now!

  7. Maybe Jackson County will get a good prosecutor out of this deal. We desperately need a prosecutor with skill and willingness to put hood rats away, unlike Jean Petersucker Baker.

  8. Here's the thing that you idiots aren't seen. A Democrat running a Law & Order campaign has the potential to swing voters from both parties and maybe bring back working class white people into the fold. So far they seem to be neglected by both the Democrats and the Republicans. I seen the potential for her leadership being one that unifies both conservatives and progressives, if she's smart. I guess we have to wait and see if she wins and then if she's just going to follow the same old strategy, in that case yeah just more of the same. But there's hope in her candidacy and that's about as much as the Missouri Democrats can ask for right now.

    1. Jean would fail miserably running a Law and Order campaign. Her opponents would eat her alive based on her weak record. Read the KC Star article Soft on Crime featuring her miserable perform as a prosecutor. I think the Democratic Party can do a lot better than Jean.

  9. Most of the Republican Statewide officials have been appointed and not elected. I don't really see the problem seems Missouri the voters are vastly overrated.

  10. I’m sure KCPD would like to see her go elsewhere.

  11. Innocent people die because of this Democrats soft line on crime.

  12. Jean doesn’t enjoy prosecuting criminals, that’s pretty obvious when you take a look at her results. It’s pretty embarrassing.

Love the stupid questions on the posts.

    It's quite entertaining.

  14. She's definitely learned the art of accomplishing little to next to nothing.

  15. Her coddling of ghetto criminals has killed innocent people.

  16. In a related story, the White Star Line is soliciting resumes for captain of the Titanic.
Close the "watertight" doors and man the pumps.
    Then the lifeboats.
With the "bench" of candidates the Dems have in Missouri, whoever the winner of this contest turns out to be will have a very lonely time.
If Pander has recovered from his "PTSD", perhaps he can come down from the mountaintop and save the day!

  17. If Baker Peters runs the Missouri Dems like she runs the prosecutors office, the Dems might as well give up right now.

  18. A murder suspect just got out on bond then murdered a witness under her watch. And now the Democrats want her to be in charge of the state party? I guess you could call that the peters principle.

  19. Her mentor is convicted criminal Mike Sanders so that pretty much explains everything you need to know.

  20. If everyone on the east side she gave a break could vote she'd be a shoe in for anything.

  21. Petersucker=Pelosi X10 stupidity

  22. As a Republican, I think she would be a great choice for Democratic Party chair. It could be really good for Jackson County too. Almost anyone would be a better prosecutor. We desperately need a better prosecutor who will be more aggressive about putting criminals in prison.

  23. It doesn’t seem like a lot of people have much confidence in the skill or desire of Jean Petersucker Baker to do her job as prosecutor.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Evidently Baker has aspirations but she is definitely clueless.
