A tragedy in Kansas City, Kansas was one of the worst the metro has ever seen and now local newsies offer testimony about the long recovery process for a family that has started to emerge from grief . . .

Fox4: Scott Schwab speaks - As criminal cases loom, dad talks of journey forward after Verrückt tragedy

Deets:

Scott Schwab, is talking about their journey to this point two-and-a-half years after that horrific day for the first time locally. He remembers it as a blur — bits and pieces of it coming back to him now and then in flashbacks — but prefers to focus on the now and the future.

“I had a lot of memories I just wasn’t able to remember because I wasn’t able to cope with memories. And now that it’s been two years, things are coming back,” Schwab told FOX4’s John Holt during a sit-down interview.

The fact that criminal indictments have been handed up against the park’s co-owner and others involved, that Verrückt remained standing while investigations went forward, and that other reminders like birthdays and milestones came and went, make the journey to recovery a long process for the family.

  3. You know, I knew a family who were in a car accident and the youngest boy essentially had his legs sliced off and bled to death in front of them.

Accidents and negligence happens. If this dude wasn't privileged and affluent, then nobody would care.

Part of this whole this-isn't-supposed-to-happen-to-us syndrome these suburban upper middle class folks seem to think exists.

Yeah, lots of things are supposed to happen, but they do.

    Go away.

  4. And yet the legislature still could not bring themselves to enact ‘job killing regulations’. Guess we know who they would rather kilnnmostnregulations are written in the blood of victims. I really thought Karma would have an impact but apparently Kansas right wing fundamentalists are beyond rational thought.

  5. ^^^^^That was stupid

  6. If he wasn’t a state representative with some power would any of this have happened if it was just a commoner? Just sayin

  7. He wants everyone to care about him and his life, but he hates gays, weed, and abortion. Karma is a bitch.

"Regarding gay issues, Schwab believes being gay is a "lifestyle choice."[11] He is against same-sex marriage and describes himself as pro-life.[12] Schwab opposes legalization of medical marijuana, saying "this would be an attempt to legalize marijuana. It has no benefit for pain management. All it does is make you crave another bag of chips."[13]

  8. And he's an expert on pain management. Weed only makes you want a bag of chips. Heehehe hahaha ????

Doesn't care if marijuana helps with other peoples' pain, but his precious pain, oh, dear, now that's something we need to talk about. A freak accident. Typical JoCo douchebag.

  9. So did y'all take a number to be the first to post the douchebag comments or was it a free for all for you?

You pricks are pretty much celebrating his kid's death because he isn't a fan of your precious MJ and isn't hip on sucking dick. What a bunch of fucking lowlifes.

  10. No, I think they're saying he's not special and no one gives a shit about his kid. Better?

  11. i do not know how anybody looked at that slide and then thought it was safe.
    makes my skin crawl.

  12. some ppl even talked to the 'designers' and still thought it was safe. Unbelievable.

  13. i was always suspicious of fairground rides since someone dropped out of the roller coaster at world's of fun, and when a girl got injured at Disneyland's Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, that was the last straw.

  14. bumper cars, mr toad's wild adventures, fine.

  15. not trying to be funny, that slide just unbelievable and creepy and awful.

  16. The ride was safe with the property weight distribution. The problem was there were two hambeasts in the raft with him and since he doesn't weigh much it caused his portion to elevate more. This is s a physics issue that was probably also politically incorrect. But given proper weight distribution the slide runs as it should
