KC single-family home permits rise in October, HBA reports - Kansas City Business Journal

After a dip in September, metro-area single-family residential housing permits came back up in October. The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City recorded 447 single-family permits for October, the group announced in a release. This topped September by 110 but remains nearly 300 shy of the 4,932 issued by this time last year.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A shopping center at the northwest corner of 84th and Wornall Road in South Kansas City may get a boost but it comes at the expense of a 1-percent sales tax increase. The owner of the center wants to put in place the Wornall Village Community Improvement District (CID) to help renovate the area.

The Kansas City Police Department conducted a large-scale tow sweep Friday, November 16, removing cars that appear to have been abandoned off public streets. The Department's Traffic Unit, Impact Squad and East Patrol CIO's were all involved in the operation.

After five years in the East Bottoms, the Local Pig (and attached sandwich shop Pigwich) is moving to the City Market in December. This Friday, it will be open in its original location at 2618 Guinotte Ave.
