Grand jury indicts captain of Missouri tourist boat that sank, killed 17

Charges have been filed against the captain of a Missouri tourist boat that sank and killed 17 people, including nine people from an Indiana family. A federal indictment released Thursday charges 51-year-old Kenneth Scott McKee with 17 counts of misconduct, negligence or inattention to duty by a ship's officer, resulting in death.

  2. Plenty of blame to go around. Those DUKW's have had a reputation for decades of sinking like rocks when swamped, it's the reason the military surplussed all of them after WW2.

    I know this isn't the first time they've had trouble with these boats in Branson. We used to vacation down there all the time in the 70's and early 80's and the 2 rides that had bad reps for accidents down there at the time were the helicopter rides and the DUKW tours.
