Local perspective on a tragic episode in the distant past that sparks present day discussion of increasingly divided factions with the U.S., take a look:

Kansas City Erects First Memorial To Remember A Victim Of Lynching

Levi Harrington was lynched on April 3, 1882 in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, Missouri. That may seem like a long time ago, but in those 136 years, the aftermath of racial terror lynchings reverberate today. That's why lynchings - and Harrington - are being remembered in Kansas City this weekend.

  1. God forbid somebody try and enjoy a nice walk outside without being reminded of a lynching that occurred 150 years ago.

  2. No doubt. And if we start putting up a memorial for every ugly grievance that occurred throughout time, the city will soon look like Pere Lachaise.

  3. I think everyone should wear black on Friday instead of red for the Chiefs to remind everyone of the suppression of white people by black people, with the black on white hate crimes! From now on black is what I will wear for that reason, after all Colin Kapernick said we should stand up for what we believe in!

  6. Same twats above piss and moan about people wanting to take down Confederate Memorials. But nooooo, why do we need to honor victims?!?!

  8. ^^Yes! That's it! Screw those twats as you say! Come take down my confederate memorial? No way! These people actively want you dead my friend. Resist them. Can we count on you to fight when the time comes?

  9. Some states still have hanging as an option of their capital punishment so if they hang a white guy it's a hanging but if they hung a black guy would it be a lynching?
