NEWSIES EXAMINE SWEET HOUSING DEAL & PERKS ENJOYED BY KCK TOP COP!!!

A journalistic audit of this recently embattled local law man who confronts continued questions about the history of his department despite some notable progress against crime this year . . . Take a look:

KCK Police Chief lives in UG-owned lake house

KCK Police Chief Terry Zeigler is living in a lake house owned by the Unified Government. As part of the deal, Zeigler has been given rent credit for fixing the house at his own expense. Zeigler has also been given labor costs, mileage and free utilities as part of the deal.

  1. Wyandotte has always had corrupt government. Most of the white people there are inbred and poorly educated. Their main goal is to have a cool pickup truck.

  2. So, he does all this documentation CYA. Maybe because the deal was unethical to begin with?

  6. 10:12 always good to hear from a Unified Crook. Wyandotte County is known for these sweetheart deals. It's an art form and widely used for future retirees. Stuffing their pension fund is an art form too. Next move, a six figure salary and a cushy job for a job well done.

This house was gutted and so called remodeled with taxpayer funds. All the original arts and crafts fixtures disappeared and cheap crap was installed.

No property taxes for this guy while the rest of us see increases every year. Wyandotte County, the poorest county with the highest taxes. Keeping our crooks comfortable while they rob us blind has worked for decades. Good job.

  7. 9:40, maybe the writer was referring to the sweat equity that the top cop is contributing to the property.

But probably not. Journalists are typically semi-literate.

  8. ^ thank you for these hilarious comments. The entire office enjoyed them.

ps Semi-literate? Isn't that the job of the UG's Board of Education Dept.? Six figure salaries, luxury travel and a long list of perks only city hall can justify?

Since when is cleaning a house where you live for nearly nothing concerned sweat equity? UG city hall never fails to find ways to let people suck off the public treasury.

  9. KCK top cop is doing nothing more than what Forte did to KCMO and his half million in overtime.

  10. If that’s all Wyco is paying for then it’s a deal, kcmo pays for about a dozen high up officials places where they live, who do you think was paying for sLIE’s place and utilities on union hill?

  11. Once again some reporter or activist stirred this up.. It's a non-event. He's got the placed fixed up and has done the community and the UG a favor. Who the hell cares if he's living there and fixing it up.

Everyone has a complaint about something and the news always interviews people who say cops need to go out and arrest someone. The news station needs to go do an actual news story instead of trying to chase the ratings.

  12. Andy needs to worry about his wig more than a non event like this. Kck is finally becoming less of a hell hole than it has been in fifty years. Anybody with a brain will lease a house that has been vacant for fifteen years to the first guy that walks in the door and offers a deal somewhat reasonable. The problem here was they should have had a third party, board of equalization member or intelligent real estate guy do the deal so they could have fixed the few problems that got left out. I.e. Utilities, real estate tax and insurance.

  14. never watch 41. Watched it last night. Can't resist one of our city's finest involved in an investigative story. It's rare and very enjoyable to view the UG smirk up close. Received our 2019 property tax bill on the same day with a 17.5 increase. Happy to know it covers payments to mommy's and trips to the hardware store.

As we say in this cesspool of corruption...forget Jake, it's Chinatown.
