Today, a couple of airlines said they can't afford the high prices . . . Meanwhile, the lame duck Mayor is now mostly powerless to bully his colleagues. The good news is that voters should be able to exert influence IF they're active in the upcoming election. Take a look:
Mayor works to keep new KCI terminal plan on track
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Progress with building a new airport in Kansas City has slowed after a disagreement between large and small airlines at the airport. "It took six years to get to this point and I am not going to get to this point to see it fail because different agendas that are not in the best interest of this city are being pushed," said Mayor Sly James.
The agenda pushed/rushed by the mayor is not in the best interests of the city. There are runaway costs and a hole hasn't even been dug yet.
ReplyDeleteI would suspect the bill to this point exceeds 10s of millions. Much cheaper to cut and run rather than try and slog through.
ReplyDeleteRemodel the easiest to use airport in the world.
ReplyDeleteCan this Sly guy be arrested before he does any more damage?
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder who has been holding a gun to Sly's ugly fat head the past seven years. Or do they carry a baseball bat when they go to ask him for money.
ReplyDelete^^^ Developers must have some dirt on him. There is no other logical reason other then he just plain stupid.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Sly will get offered a job with Clorox
ReplyDelete^^^^^
ReplyDeleteHaHaHa @ 5:35 that was funny.
KCMO needs to cut its losses and run.
ReplyDeleteSome of the airlines have wised up and see through the smoke and mirrors erected by the city. The KCMO new airport plan makes the discount airlines extinct.
Very short order the rest of the airlines will rebuke the new airport plan.
@6:16pm
ReplyDeleteBut except for the cost of $1.9 billion and rising, what exactly IS the new airport plan?
