The fight to spin the aftermath of the midterm elections continues and tonight the GOLD STANDARD OF KANSAS CITY POLITICAL DISCOURSE asks even more middle-class white people what they think about a vote wherein most people of color and working poor opted out despite of the record numbers of cable TV news viewers showing up to enact the corporate misinformation they took to heart . . .
Check the description:
"Mike Shanin talks to Melinda Henneberger from the Kansas City Star Editorial Board about midterm elections results and the KCMO mayoral race. Lisa Johnston, Jim Heeter, Patrick Tuohey and Steve Mirakian discuss the challenges that Governor-elect Laura Kelly will face with a conservative GOP legislature, the future of the Missouri Democratic Party and the rising price tag for a new KCI."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
very droll. Actually, this was one of the best shows they have had all year and offed a really informed look at the midterm and future elections. The panelists all did a great job of conveying their positions and roasts & toasts was on the money from all sides.
ReplyDeleteCalling out Big Jim Heeter on his campaign B.S. was maybe the best thing that ever happened on Ruckus.
DeleteDAMN.
GOOD.
SHOW!
The airport stuff was good, much more interesting than the new mayor talk. These guys really don't know much about that election or who is getting in.
ReplyDeleteWowza!
ReplyDeleteJohnston, Tuohey, and Mirakian deliver multiple doses of the unvarnished truth with some intermittent sunnier commentary from Heeter.
All were poised, articulate and thoughtful. THIS is the "gold standard" we need from all Ruckus episodes!
You can say I put my faith in the idiots on TV
ReplyDeleteLOL
WELCOME TO BLEACHUCKUS
ReplyDelete...where we pour bleach on the week's food for thought!
Dr. Johnston, Tuohey, and Mirakian were exemplars of civic discourse. Heeter remains a poorly cloaked propagandist for Mayor James and the corporate elite.
IMAGINE A KCMO GOVERNED BY FOLKS LIKE JOHNSTON/TUOHEY/MIRAKIAN
Imagine there's no corruption
It's easy if you try
No hell around us
Above us only blue sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today... Aha-ah...
Imagine there's no tax abuse
It isn't hard to do
No G.O. bonds or Earnings tax
And no ToyTrain, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace... You...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And KCMO will be as one
Imagine no corporate welfare
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Working to build KC... You...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the RUCKUS will live as one.
Interesting that Mirakian stated that the Democratic Party has become dominated be the "leftist extreme", but never mentioned that the Republican Party has sold its soul to the absolutely bug-shit insane far-right Wingers for the last three decades!
