Five arrested in Northland robberies, police say

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Five suspects were arrested overnight in connection to at least two Northland robberies. Kansas City police said the group was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday following attempted robberies at the Taco Bell and nearby Phillips 66 convenience store in the 6200 block of NW Barry Road.

More reward money available for info in double homicide at Longview Lake

More reward money is available for information in an August double homicide at Longview Lake. A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest or filing of charges in the case. The bodies of Keith Wasmer and Michael Brewer were found deep in woods near Longview Lake.

Patrol: Man arrested after 100-mile chase from Kansas City in tractor-truck

KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a man in a stolen tractor-truck led officers on a chase of about 100 miles before the truck caught fire. The driver tried to flee on foot but was arrested when he became caught on a barbed-wire fence.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department has now identified the person killed in a homicide late Monday morning. KCK officers found 23-year-old Ronald T. Marks Jr. deceased from several gun shot wounds in a home near 10th and Ohio just before 10 a.m.

Thief steals thousands of dollars in tools from Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity

Thousands of dollars worth of tools were stolen Wednesday from the Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity's construction trailer. The organization said the tools are used to build and repair homes from Kansas City to Oak Grove.

And what do all these stories have in common, besides possibly the stolen semi ? It takes manual transmission skills in that case, something most criminals of color lack.
