  1. Maybe the Chief should have kept his mouth shut.

  2. Hes a better man than you are. He has people to protect, including his officers and their families. Dolt!

  3. All they really need are a bunch of rednecks with guns and trucks to patrol their streets. They probably don’t have much crime since no black people live there.

  6. This town is broke AF. They base their budget on hopeful distribution from the County taxes, and any local taxes/fees. GC has virtually nothing as far as commercial enterprises that would be subject to taxes. They collect "fees" for building projects but those are few and far between (and are supposed to be tied to the actual review and inspection of the projects). Over the last couple of years the PD upgraded all their vehicles to the creme-de-la-creme of cruisers; way more than what the City needed, and more than what they could afford. This killed their budget for more essential items: water processing, sewer treatment, property maintenance. Council probably didn't have any other options, there is NOT a lot of fat to cut. PD went, then the Chief who was probably making near $80k gets cut. I suspect next fiscal year, they'll hire a newbie "Chief" who will make up a one man department for about $40k then in 3rd quarter get a new patrolman for about $25k.

  11. @1:00PM que pasa? Garden City Police Department provided law enforcement for 1,600 acres. As part of coop agreements for emergency response they could provide services outside of their political limits but the costs of those events were reimbursed to the PD. They simply had many more police than needed. All of the surrounding towns had the same problem. Archie had four and are now down to one or two. Peculiar is keeping up on their huge department almost solely from have miles of highway set at 25 or 35 MPH as speed traps. Harrisonville's department has something like 4 times the number of police now than it did in the 90's with about 2,000 more people. Pleasant Hill is maintaining a large force with expansion to the North. But overall, police departments far outgrew the towns they served based on the foolishness of voters: but, but, but, its for the police. FYI, also the case with School Districts.
