Former 'Retired' Kansas City Aviation Honcho Mark VanLoh Lands In Jacksonville

The reality is that this dude was "retired" after voter, council and civic discontent with his double talk on the need for a new airport. Thanks to TKC readers who followed this story all the way to his new gig that seems like a more active "retirement" than most. Take a look:

Jacksonville Aviation Authority names new CEO - Kansas City Business Journal

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority board Monday voted unanimously to name Mark VanLoh as its new CEO. VanLoh, previously the CEO of the Tulsa Airports Authority in Oklahoma, had been put forward by the board's search committee out of a pool of 73 candidates.

  1. Bad decision.
In a few years, after zero maintenance has been done their airport, these folks will be presented with a proposal to build a brand new facility at the cost of only $1 billion.
Hope the city council and aviation authorities in Jacksonville pay more attention to their oversight responsibilities than the clowns in KCMO.

  3. I hear councilmember (the ineffective and irrelevant) Teresa Loar is getting a place in Jacksonville. Gosh darn it, she’s going to find someone somewhere to buy into her “renovate your terminals to the bone” idea. That’s all she knows and all she talks about. Too bad she looks a fool.
