The premise . . .
"The (campaign) letter avoids accounting for a complicated history with her current relationship — and a marital history that puts her well outside of the norm.
"(She) Refused to say how many times she had been married, claiming that it was not relevant to her abilities to serve as mayor. She stressed that she had been married only twice over the past two decades, and indicated that while she and Michael no longer live together, they are working to repair their marriage.
"She has not responded to multiple additional requests for comment made since the interview Friday."
This nasty little bit of fake news is the product of publisher Jay Senter according to the byline and it raises some question . . .
Who is Jay Senter to determine what the "norm" is for marriage in Shawnee???
How many times has the SMP rag delved into the marital history of male candidates without questioning their policy positions at all???
Because we can smell our own . . . Obviously, this is nothing but a filthy blogger hit piece on lady focusing solely on her personal life and with barely mention of her political positions.

Slut-shaming is the practice of criticizing people, especially women and girls, who are perceived to violate expectations of behavior and appearance regarding issues related to sexuality.
The responses to this fake journalism have been mixed and mostly reflect arcane phony middle-class worldviews but this one stood out . . .
"Regardless of who you vote for, it's stories like this that cause good people not to run for office and/or to avoid involvement at any level. The personal relationships are her business."
What's more important is that Kansas City newsies seem to welcome Mr. Senter as a professional when, in fact, the tactics displayed in his latest post are those of a typical social media sleaze merchant targeting a female politico based solely on her personal life.

DeleteShe has only been on council for a year. So she doesn't have much of a policy stance to cover. And maybe her marriage record is part of her public record but she did answer the question. It wasn't relevant. If Jay was a better journalist, maybe he could have made a case for how it did apply to her camapign as Mayor. I'd like to see Nick Haines next time he's on Ruckus. Why is it important to harass a female candidate about her marriage and has he done the same to male candidates?

The Post used to be a reputable rag. Unfortunately, Jay is slowly becoming the most powerful man in PV,and he knows it. The locals are fooled by his 'aww shucks' approach, and believe he is non-biased. However, he has incredible thin skin and does not like any form of constructive criticism. He ran the story because she did not respond, yet according to his own headline - there are allegedly 9 other sources he could of reached out to.

DeleteI like the Shawnee Mission post for what it is, it's a good look at small town life with a focus on local issues. Politics usually brings out the worst in people and in this case Mr. Senter has lowered his standards.

Yes Jay is very thinned skinned as many of his readers are. I was banned from commenting on his rag sometime back because he couldn't take my factual comebacks that would show him for just who he really is, ill informed and narrow minded. He's extremely arrogant and thinks he is a real publisher when he is simply nothing more than a guy running an internet blog out of his home. He has been rude to me on several occasions and due to a business position I was in had to take a lot of it. But now I am no longer in that position to have to put up with his crap. In public he accused me once of penning a negative and I have to admit truthful comment once about him and I had to take it even when I had not been the author of such. But not anymore and this Slut Shaming piece he put up is simply his way of trying to sway the vote in Perfect Village and exposing him for who he really is. I mean if he can talk crap on people he shouldn't be banning readers who do the same back at him. Oh wait I'm sorry Jay is somebody right? Only in his only mind is he such and I knew the times were coming when his arrogance was going to backfire on him.
ReplyDeleteWhat is really irritating about Senter is if you don't like someone and are for someone then come and and say so in your piece about the issue and not play games like Senter does. Come out and admit who you think is best and not best. Come out and admit you are just a blogger running what is nothing more than a local blog from your Cap Cod home in the village along with who knows how many other things besides the Secondary Trauma Resource Center. But Senter likes to make it sound like he is running a real publishing company, but he runs it all out of his home. I thought Perfect Village frowned on businesses operating out of homes?
Another point I'd like to make here is how many so called professional publishers do you know who pose for a picture on their main page for their so called advertisers to see, do so with messed up hair and barefooted while sitting on the front porch?

ReplyDeleteSo, is it 9 or not? It does make a difference to me. I was wife number 3. He’s moved to to additional wives after me and based on my personal experience, I believe anything more than two spouses is an indication of character issues. Just my opinion, but I wouldn’t vote for that person.
