CELEBRATE KANSAS CITY MIDTERM ELECTION WINNERS & LOSERS!!!

In the aftermath of the latest divisive vote there's nothing left to do but cry, keep score, pass blame and celebrate both the winners and losers.

Accordingly and with slant toward KCMO and our blog community discourse . . . Here's the definitive list of midterm election consequences now that the dust has settled . . .

THE WINNERS

Pink Wave Powers Local Politics

Grandma Kelly and Sharice Davids inspired national headlines with their progressive campaigns that hinged on a great deal of lady support. Already, the MSM narrative touts their achievements and reminds us that women outnumber men at the polls and they're actually much more reliable voters.

Establishment GOP Stays Winning

Sure, AG Josh Hawley campaigned with Prez Trump a lot and garnered a great deal of help from the Commander-In-Chief but he also had to stab a Navy Seal in the back to get to the top . . . Hawley isn't MAGA so much as he's elite. More to the point, the aftermath of the latest election THE MISSOURI GOP SUPER MAJORITY STAYS MOSTLY INTACT and reminds that this is a resoundingly red state.

Broke-Ass Stoners See Gains

Call it progress or crumbs . . . Weed law reform and slightly higher wages make life just a bit easier for the working-class in Missouri as real world populism manages to pay off for truly grassroots efforts.

THE LOSERS

Keyboard Warriors Mostly Ignored

Better social media controls, Alex Jones blanked out by corporate tech and the end of mean comment novelty makes this demographic less effective given that so much racist & mean chatter ultimately proves unproductive.

Show-Me Black Vote In Doubt

Behind the scenes and in public . . . Missouri Democratic elite are confronting serious questions about the viability of an urban core strategy that has traditionally paid off for the party. Prez Trump popularity is growing among Black people despite some cringe-worthy "racist" interactions and Kanye West. This might be for the benefit of everyone involved and Black voters have a right to only really get excited about Black candidates in much the way old white guys have been doing pretty much the same thing throughout recorded history.

No Room For "Moderates" Anymore

Claire McCaskill and Kevin Yoder billed themselves as "moderate" and while it's fair to debate their claims as such . . . Walking in the middle of the road is dangerous in every respect and now especially so in American politics.

Accordingly . . .

TELL US YOUR WINNER VS. LOSER PICKS AFTER THE MIDTERM!!!

It'll be fun to compare both notes and complaints.

  2. The losers were the geezers who were about 90% wrong on their predictions. Out-of-touch & living in an echo chamber is a quick way to lose elections. Dems learned it 2016, GOP just got it taught to them.

  3. Now inexperienced Sharice Davids reps the Kansas 3rd. Terrible. Loving the amendment 2 to take the fear mongering out of marijuana. Looks like I’m moving to Missouri, but you can bet I’m staying the hell out of Jackson county. Glad Watkins won KS 2, and poor claire. Poor thing she can go enjoy her wealthy private life now and still fly in jets.

  6. 3:25 us geezers we’re wrong on grandma Kelly but can live with her winning, would she be considered a geezer? She is old and you hate old people so I could consider that a win because you lost the old people battle, pro tip, you’ll always lose that one! Pocahontas was a complete shock to me, I’ll admit that, no way I had no idea they’re were that many section eight people over there to turn the tide, I actually feel sorry for them now that theyve turned into Jackson county, how sad that they were once a proud vibrant rich county now the welfare losers have taken over and ruined it.

  8. The most scared person in the country this morning is Sharice Davids.
She never expected to win and she does not have a clue what the job she now has will entail.

  9. Trying to add some fake shit and made up crap to this comment string but can't think of any.

  10. "Already, the MSM ... reminds us that women outnumber men at the polls and they're actually much more reliable voters." But as Hillary reminded us recently, women vote for whomever their husbands and boyfriends tell them to. So, MSM, either you're wrong or your shining light Hillary is wrong (or maybe both). Which is it?

  19. If the Democrats are to have any hope of beating him in 2020, then they have got to come up with a better plan than screaming ‘Trump’s a monster’ or ‘Oprah and Taylor say don’t vote for Trump’.

  20. I woke up and thought "time to move to Canada". But after settling down a little I realized that with the red Senate there will be little that Pelosi and gang can do without Trump's help. Also we will be tracking daily what Davids votes on and how many days she fails to show up at all.
In two more years all of the Hispanics and women will fail to show up and vote so this isn't that big a deal. Yes I agree Sharice woke up from her drunken stupor this morning and shit her panties because now she will be under a microscope and within six months we could recall her for being a dud. Watch for signature gathers at the JOCO supermarkets in May or June.

  24. Did not expect Claire to come up short. Remember akin? Her timing and wily skillz weren’t enough this time.

The real loser is the American Republic and the Constitution and the idea that we ought not have perpetual debt-funded foreign wars. I did not see one ad for any race that even one time mentioned our endless wars.
